That's? Totally a rebel mine.

More seriously, it sucks for the victims. It's funny to see how... peaceful they look though, just seated in their bus, killed by schrapnels that don't live many visible wounds. I always pictured victims of explosions as torn in shred with body parts everywhere. I wonder why.

When I try to translate that webpage it says some gibberish about cyborgs. Has anyone gotten better results?

"Cyborgs ruinas abandonadas Donetsk Aeropuerto
22 de enero 2015 | 03:14
La construcción del aeropuerto de Donetsk albergues completamente destruidas en el territorio ya no existe, por lo que los cyborgs se vieron obligados a abandonar."

Which in english would be

Cyborg ruins abandoned Donetsk airport.
The construction of the Donetsk airport shelter completely destroyed in the territory does not exist, therefore the cyborgs were forced to abandon.

"Cyborgs" is a colloquial/propaganda name for the Ukrainian defenders of the Donetsk airport, who were hyped up by Kyiv's propaganda into absolutely invincible warriors who destroy hordes of Chechen spetsnaz and Russian tanks. Now the airport in under rebel control, and Kyiv is dealing with the propaganda fallout, mostly by finding excuses and assigning blame.

@Sheb: Oh, rest assured, there are plenty of mincemeated corpses as well in Donetsk, try searching for Донецк трупы in Google.

Edited to show respect to cyborgs.

I'd take objection to "not remarkable". Anyone who can fight for several days in a half-destroyed building is pretty remarkable for me. Most of them died, too.

Well, they were not as remarkable as Kyiv would've liked, but I agree, they were good fighters, we have to give them that.

Which is why they're currently being paraded through Donetsk to show how stronk the Russian "volunteers" and their local auxiliaries are. They need their propaganda too.

The guys who defeated the cyborgs were all local volunteers without any quotation marks. Russians have so far only given out supplies.

So I just found out there is a group of French neo-Nazis fighting in Donbass in the "Unité Continentale". Two of them got gravely wounded by Ukrainian soldiers because they can't afford helmets of bulletproof vest apparently. Somehow, I don't feel sorry for them.

Apparently, the Novorossiyan leadership doesn't think highly of them, either, seeing how it tends to issue helmets and armor vests to the soldiers it wants to keep alive. They probably weren't even fighting that much, anyway, instead preferring to sit in the rear and pillage the surroundings, like that "Odessa" detachment that got disbanded.

@Miljan: Why idiots?

Well, they're self-declared Dugin fans. That want to cleanse Europe from foreigners. From their website, you get to a page about the the "Socialist Nationalist Revolution". If those guys aren't Nazis, then no one is.

I recall there used to be a blatantly neo-Nazi guy in one of the "forward" detachments of DNR, and he posted a photo once where he posed with a swastika in front of dead Ukrainian soldiers. The fallout was immense and Zakharchenko quickly got rid of him.

To be honest, who else is going to go and volunteer but ultranationalists of various stripes? The radical left barely exist anymore and  doesn't really have a horse to back in this battle, Islamist are still confused about why no one return their mails when they try to contact the Islamic State in Donbass and Lugant and the moderates like you and me are too busy trying to figure out what exactly is the best way to procrastinate.
