I apologise for being unnecessarily rude over the past few pages, I was just angry and felt hopeless. I'll remove any needlessly hurtful/snide comments.

Don't worry, Owlbread, I am too much of an irrational jingoist to be able to complain about people being emotional when talking to me. Absolutely nothing you said was personal, and so I don't think you have anything to apologise for.

Also, I didn't know that my opinion was important enough for people to feel angry and hopeless over :P

Doublepost for breaking news:

Colonel Cassad says that things are heating up on the Novorossiyan front, it appears that both sides are going at it with everything they've got. Artillery fire is intense and Ukrainian tanks are trying to retake the Dontetsk airport. The rebels, on their part, are responding with their own artillery fire and report that a huge "voentorg" supply convoy has entered Novorossiya. All in all, it looks everybody is trying to get as much territory as possible to wave around on the upcoming negotiations.

Russia attempted to initiate a new round of peace negotiations back in early January, in Astana, Kazakhstan. The United States and the EU refused to attend and responded with their usual ultimatums. Guess there won't be any negotiations in the near future.

Novorossiyan rocket artillery firing at Ukrainian positions - a usual sight in Donetsk now
Damage from artillery strikes in the town of Gorlovka near Donetsk

Video of the battle map so far with English subtitles.
That's a pro-Novorossiyan source. I think it's important to mention the political allegiance of every linked source of information when it's possible.

Well, I am of opinion that objective sources about the Donbass conflict are absent as a class, but thank you for reminding me anyway, I fixed that now.

EDIT: Colonel Cassad reports that Ukrainian forces' attack on the Airport has ground to a halt and they are suffering casualties, Ukrainian soldiers' social media posts ask for help and reinforcements, artillery duels are still intense everywhere.

Well, it's useful to know in which sense a source is biased. Although in this case the name kinda gave it away.

Now, the subtitle used the term AFU a lot. Who's that?

Armed Forces of Ukraine. And I'll repeat myself: there are no unbiased sources reporting on the Donbass front and both sides churn out baloney like it's Mardi Gras. Cassad is special because he prefers to actually tell us what is obvious baloney and what isn't, despite being a self-admitted Novorossiyan "PR specialist." Perhaps it's his style of propaganda - debunk obvious lies in order to appear objective and then lie in the details?

Oh, because they also use UA, which I guess stands for Ukrainian Army. A bit weird to have both. Also, even if all source are biased, it's still nice to know if a source is pro-Ukrainian or pro-Russian when posted.

This spring-like winter makes the war way more intensive than it would be with proper snow and freezing temperatures.

Well, better sooner than later. Something major is happening now and I have a feeling that more major events to follow in the next few weeks or even days

That could very well be - it's my tactic as well when I want to convince someone as opposed to debating them.
