Homosexuality is not "taught", it is not even passed down from parents to children.

There is evidence that a part of it is genetic. I can't recall any where they compared adopted and non-adopted siblings to see if it was tied to upbringing, but I've heard that there are also some links to early-life lifestyle.

well, it is genetic, but insomuch as you will see it in the genes, but it is in everyones' genes. A lesbian getting pregnant is no more or less liking to produce homosexual offspring than a heterosexual woman.

I've heard studies saying, also, that it is something that is solidified by the age of three, during which time our sexuality and gender identity are formed (which I guess is possible.) But you can't condition or train your kids not to be gay or identify with a different gender. But those studies are outliers and I would reject them as the majority of geneticists and doctors say it is from birth.

The point is, if you are expecting homosexuality to die out so that proper, decent heterosexuals can go on without them, you might want to consider that homosexuality has been around since the beginning and has yet to die off.

Smee, are you familiar with the oft spoken Russian mindset that the majority should not have to take into account minorities, as doing so "harms" the majority, and benefits the minority at the expense of everyone else? Its some kind of distorted "for the greater good" conservatism.

And this is how the country that gave us the USSR turned into what is today.

I'd just like to say that as a person with very good gay friends and family members I didn't like the homophobia from the Russian users over the last few pages e.g. hoping that gays die out and so on. By saying those things, you're saying that you want those things to happen to my friends/family who, incidentally, would not act like you evidently want them to. "Unnatural" was the word, wasn't it?

As a favour to me and others like me, could you please avoid straying into that sort of territory? You can choose to reject this request, I'm not saying "I got offended, you need to stop what you're doing or XYZ", I'm just asking you as a favour.

I'd also like to point out that this whole "In the USSR, everyone sexuality was repressed equally" is pure BS. Male homosexuality was punished with up to five years of labor camp. Although to be honest, the West wasn't that gay-friendly back then, we've just progressed a lot faster than Russia on this issue.

Russia is pretty socially regressive atm. When your country is going through problems, you need a group of people to blame it on I guess. Though, thinking homosexuality is unnatural and wrong is some third-world shit.

Also, asexual? What kinds of problems with a non-rural society can asexual people possibly have?

Off the top of my head, corrective rape comes to mind. There's also the "you must be mentally ill" idea that is fairly common, similar to how homosexuality used to be considered a mental illness.
