That's a theory that sounds depressingly true to the facts.

I guess I'm not going to vote for the Putin's party in any foreseeable future.
So what's the main point of that long and rambling article?

I tried forcing it to use serbian and while it got through, the translation is pretty horrible, many words aren't even translated.

So, a summary of it would be great.

Okay, I tried to do the 'do you mean...' thing, which google thought was serbian. I tried to do the 'detect language' thing and google thought it was already in english for some reason.

Our government sucks major balls in basically all areas any functional government shouldn't suck at.

But it appears that our government is essentially not-functional regarding foreign politics.

Ah, so that's the reason for Putin's adventures: Foreign policy becomes easier when there's fewer foreign countries!

So, in order to help Knit Tie change the subject, I have a question.

I have a fascination for Russia, and I'd love to go there for a while (Plus, learning Russian will be handy when I end up in a siberian POW camp after our failed defense of Estonia  :P). I also need to spend 4 months next year in a research lab abroad as part of my degree.

So, are there any good research institutions in the domain of molecular biology, biochemistry and synthetic biology? If possible where you can get by with English?

Dito - I actually tried once, but never got anywhere - you only learn a language when there's an actual need to speak it, at least in my experience.
Maybe I should enlist as a Ukrainian volunteer. Purely to learn the language, you know :P

Heh, at this point I think they'll take anyone they can get.

I worked in the Saint-Petersburg Influenza Institute last summer and thoroughly liked the experience. Any the guys there don't speak English that badly, either.

If you want to go big, there's Skolkovo, but last time I heard about it it was still under construction.

Af for everything else, tell me exactly what you'd like to study and I'll narrow the search a little bit. There's just too many of various Institutes of Chemistry and Microbiology to list them all here.
