What can I say?  Russian special forces are cowards
It reminds me of an incident that happened in my home town in the late 1970s. My dad told me about it once.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

What's a BTR? And um, yeah, talk about overkill......
A Soviet line of APCs. The one that took part in that shootout was probably a BTR-70.

and you certainly can't spend dollars or euros in Russia.

Yet. It could change still. I must say things are going downhill for Russia a bit faster than I though they would.

How likely do you think is an investor run?7

Edit: A BTR is a Russian Infantry Fighting Vehicle. A kind of light Armored Transport/Tank crossover.

There's already an investor run...Russia's Finance Ministry says 2014 will see nearly $100 billion of capital outflows by the time the year comes to an end. And most of the ruble's collapse has been in the past few weeks, so beginning 2015 we're going to start seeing a real crash.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

Oil and diamonds? One could try short-selling fur or timber as well, or even premium vodka, under the assumption that the prices of Russian products on the international market will drop due to inflation.

It's not out of the question. There are a number of Soviet-era warheads that went missing during the breakup of the USSR and remain unaccounted for.

Russian stock market keeps going down. It is not collapsing fast, but

RTS Index lost 37% since January 1
RTS Industry index lost 61%
RTS Telecom index lost 53%
RTS Goods & Retail lost 38%
RTS Oil and Gas lost 32% (Oil prices, oil prices)
RTS metals and mining lost 7% (I think it is less dependent on foreign capital)

These losses are on pretty much the same level as the currency devaluation, though. I'm sure the losses in the real sector of economy are comparatively less than what these numbers would lead to indicate. Haven't heard about massive lay-offs of workers.
