Trade Screen Updates!
« on: November 04, 2014, 10:29:55 pm »

Quote

  • Added ability to mark/unmark everything in the depot from either column
  • Made column widths even in trade view and abbreviated strings differently
  • Added options in the bring-to-depot menu to toggle everything in a category or the visible list
  • Added a few categories to the kitchen menu
  • Alphabetized stone and kitchen menus
  • Added magma-safe indicator to stone menu

I'm really excited for these updates, particularly the column widths and abbreviations! Can't wait to see them in action.

:) I can't wait either. I hate the current kitchen menu, it's so cluttered.

I love these changes so much.  However there is still a lot of room for improvment in the various kitchen and stocks menu.

I wish Alcohol was on its own page/tab in the kitchen menu instead of mixed in with the meat and guts and what not.  Especially since when starting out I like to go uncheck COOK from all the alcohol so it doesnt get used up making lavish meals for trade.

I still find it overely hard and a pain in the ass to find various items to melt down, and there are quite a few items in the depot stocking menu that dont show up in any category so you have to page through endless screens of the "all" section to find them.  Really that specific menu screen for stocking the depot for trade could use a complete rewrite alltogether.

The changes that were made though are a godsend.  It is sooooooo nice finally being able to see all of the name of something without it being cut off super close to the front of the word.

Ye gods, yes. Why is it in "other" instead of in its own very special category? These are dwarves we're talking about! Booze is second only to their deities!

Also, the alphabetizing change means I now have to pick through and triple-check to make sure I haven't missed, like, turnip wine or some shit. (I don't think there's actually turnip wine. Yet.) Or blackberry wine. Or whatever. BOOZE NEEDS ITS OWN CATEGORY DAGNABBIT

there is also carrot wine.

Yes, not being able to find items to melt down is a real pita, I can't do it through the stocks manu and that makes me sad.

There's also a drink tab in the kitchen status menu.
