That would be awesome.  I remember loving Autoduel when I was a kid.  I remember playing Roadwars a bit too, but not as much.

I'm actually too young to have played Roadwars.  I'm guessing you guys are in your mid 40s or so; I had both 2000 and Europa on the Atari ST, but I was too young to figure them out.

There was a lot of managing your gang and handling logistics, and then I set out on the road and got clobbered because maybe I didn't have a keyboard reference or maybe I just didn't know what any of the stuff meant.

Autoduel was much more accessible, I think I played that one on the PC XT.  Some sort of DOS platform, anyway.

well, game's finally out, I'm enjoying it so far.

combat is frenetic enough to keep things interesting and it seems to have a good variety of stuff that happens. I think it would work better on tablets, also it has horrible, horrible banding on a 4:3 monitors.

currently I keep dying to 'forgetting you can pause', I think an autopause for when a obstacle is near should be damn useful - or a way to see more of the way forward; currently you get big red skulls on obstacle approach but they tell you little about their distance or comformation

And i'm going t wait for a steam sale.
I have a big enough backlog of games i barely played and before i'm done i'm sure there will be a 75% sale of this.

I'm having some performance issues on bigger battles. but I have a quite old computer, from 2008, so it is entirely my fault.

oh and be aware that choosing some dialog options make your convoy take damage, and there is no clear hint on it on the dialog itself. the crashing sound should have hinted me, also the healt bar got consumed, but there were any clear '-10hp' on the dialog itself and my attention was on it, not on everywhere else, I expected the rest of the UI to be frozen :/

Tried it out as well. I like it!

It's a lot like FTL, but with a bit...more? I haven't gotten all that far into it, really, but having multiple vehicles to customize is pretty fun even if each one only has a couple of slots for equipment. The combat is certainly more dynamic and I enjoy the more open-world feel to everything. Lots of good references and jokes in the various encounters, too, which is always fun.

Gah, wanted to back this back when Kickstarter was a thing... Saw it on Steam today so that's good though. I'll come around and buy it one of this days, but I'll probably wait for sale too. Also, good thing it seems like the game delivered.

Uh, ptw, I guess.

more convoy trucks, and different starting configurations

basically escorts and the main truck can be changed independently, I saw four trucks (MCV) and four escorts.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

edit: as addendum, it doesn't seem to have the same amount of replayability, weapons combine in less interesting ways (so far)

Lot more escorts than 4. That list scrolls.

That said, this game is pretty tough on normal difficulty. Haven't beat it yet.

Always make sure you have a decent stockpile of parts and fuel!

* LoSboccacc is feeling damn dumb

edit: game has some annoying cheap shots here and there. one battle started with one of my escort in the bottom middle with 5 debris ahead in each of the three bottom lanes, it obviously died. that's beyond hard, just cheap

This is a pretty sweet game, even when sucking at it and ramming half your escorts into mountains  8)
