TerraTech - Robot building, fighting and dying game

Just spotted this on my Steam recommended games list. You can get the Beta if you backed the kickstarter or pay for it, but if you have Steam you can download the demo.

I've only tried the demo, but first impressions have been pretty good.

It's a rather simple and fun game in the vein of that space game I can't remember the name of. Shoot enemies, they fall apart, pick up their items and use them on your robot. You start of with your 'cab', which, if it's destroyed means game over, a small block, four wheels, a plough and a cannon. In the demo there's nothing in the way of missions or anything, it's just wander around, make a bot and eventually die. I'm not sure if the robots get stronger the further you are, the longer you play, or the stronger your bot is, but either way, as time goes on you'll start facing tougher and bigger bots and start getting new items, such as wings, hoverpads, mortars, etc. As it is, the only problem I found was that it seems pretty poorly optimised, but then again, it IS only Beta. Also, there's no sound setting as of yet, but from the looks of things they're working on that.

I'm also of the opinion it could REALLY benefit from having a multiplayer option.

The Steam page can be found here which contains videos, pictures and such, and then there's the actual webpage here.

Spoiler: And now, pics. (click to show/hide)

That looks pretty good, probably going to test it tonight.

I think this was mentioned before, not sure if there's already a thread, though.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

This looks a lot like Thread for Scraps, I wonder if they are related in any way?

Tried the demo and didn't like the art and play style, too gimmiky.
