Our life expectancy is about 2 adventuring parties, so yeah, taking on a servant is a good idea.

Seems like a awful idea to get a servant that will inevitably betray us at the first possible opportunity. I say: Drain a days worth of sustenance from him. Then we can go our separate ways.

Edit: And try to do it in a less concentrated way so you don't leave a big burn on him if possible.

Well He literally swore his fealty to us in song, So all we have to do is get the blessing of a bardic god (Which shouldn't be a problem, since they are more about singing than good or evil, and we are ALL about that.) and then if he betrays us, he literally turns his back on everything he stands for and prolly get's struck with rock n' roll lightning.

Before I make an update of this, decision time:

Do you accept an oath of fealty in the sight of the gods, or are you fine to just trust in his obedience via fear?

What is "a oath of fealty in the sight of the gods?"

He swears to serve you in all things so long as you treat him well (enough), and he makes this vow (and you do by accepting it) in the sight of whatever gods he names.  It's a ritual of sorts.

That depends on whether you believe the gods enforce their contracts.
