I'd be in. Why not set it during the War of the Five Kings (since it's the time period we're most familiar with), but we all are minor nobles/soldiers, maybe fighting one of the side campaign of the war?

From what I can see, it's pretty rules light. I could run many things from the background, and summarize the rest.

If you needed it though, or just wanted to read it for yourself, I could perhaps obtain such a thing....

All right, let me list a simple example of the skill system the game uses, let me know what you guys think.

~Ser Soldier's task today is to lift a very heavy stone. Lord Sheb is cruel, indeed.

The task is defined both by his "athletics" ability, and the difficulty rank. Ser Soldier has got 4 ranks in athletics, so at least he's a good choice.

Turns out this rock is about 500 pds-a Very Hard challenge, which requires a dice roll of 18, or higher to pass.

Since he has 4 ranks in Athletics, he rolls 4d6 dice, and adds them up.

He only gets a 16, which isn't quite good enough-but, note his Specialties, "Strength 2B"-that means for every athletics task that requires his presumably great Strength, he rolls two bonus dice-he still only counts his highest four dice (his total ranks in the skill), but those two extra dice will count up to the total, if they are high.

In this case, his last two dice are.

Now, his new dice result is 20, and he lifts the stone.

Well, that's up to discussion.

I think I'll start generating five frameworks for potential houses-stats and area and everything. The players will vote on one of those five, modify them if needed, or reject them and I'll roll again.

Once we have the numbers, we can begin to work on the flavor.

IMO Shebs is a pretty decent coat of arms if you guys do decide to be in, or adjacent to Lannister lands-those blokes like their coats of Red and Gold.

Since it looks like The War of Five Kings is the setting that's getting the most votes is there any details I should know besides that Robert's brothers, Robb Stark, Greyjoy, Joffrey are the kings trying to kill each other?

Yes I did just look that up for the names of the main factions leaders a few minutes ago. I know almost nothing else besides their names.
