The Dangerous FanaticOne morning you wake up and Father Aspell is gone. Not dead. Not 'left the country'. Gone. No trace remains of him, no trace remains that he was ever here, no written word or spoken thought. Nothing.
Lord Carl invites anyone who might have known Father Aspell to a banquet that evening. The topic of conversation is how the faith seems to be lacking these days, and it's a shame that no priests have ever stepped up to tackle it. There is much head nodding, and the general agreement that such a priest has yet to come.
Respect for Mr Arnoldsson has increased somewhat, and fear of Homologue's agents in the night.

The Ministry of the Interior has been strengthened by this.Agent ExodusBradley's sly acquaintance leads a troupe of clergymen, including the somewhat famed Archibald IV, throughout the realm. They stop in at various houses, seeking out the poor to bestow kindness upon and the rich to seek charity from. They are devout, well-spoken and utterly companionable.
They also stop at every house of every agent in the Interior, and the unspoken threat is clearly received. Dissent falls accordingly.

He wields his power openly, trusting to his allies in court to keep his identity concealed. Worse still, the Sickness has come to Sheepstead once again.
This is now a Major Crisis.DecemberAfter the catastrophe that was November, December has proven relatively smooth sailing for Elbreth. The sickness has returned to the capital again, but the country holds steady, and the king is ready to show his gratitude.
Wolfgang Arnoldsson and Harriet Bradley have the king's favour this month.
The Order of St Julian
The warships of the Order of St Julian have been spotted on our shores. The Order are a band of pirates, using the excuse of their heathen faith (one of the countess Samakhet religions) to pillage and raid our coastal villages. The actual damage they are capable of inflicting is minimal, but the morale of our people will fall - this may be considered an attack upon the faith. The people's hearts must be restored - and the pirates driven away.

The Plague-Master
Someone is gripping this country by the balls. Protected by shells and shells of loyal or blackmailed nobility, this shadowy figure holds everyone to ransom as the sleeping sickness returns once again from the provinces and into Sheepstead, crippling the capital with its icy grasp. Whoever he is, he is hiding in plain sight, and by now has extensive resources at his control. He must be stopped before he can stage a coup!

Heretic Undercurrents
With the recent distancing of the Church from Elbreth, there are whispers in the halls of the Faith as to whether the Archbishop truly has the local church's best interests in mind. With the spread of heresy across the nation, a case could be made to convert to Mounish Heterodoxy. Otherwise, an argument should be made to reinforce the doubtful amongst the faith. For now, the whispers remain just that - whispers. Who knows what they might grow into?

The Scholarly Poisonings
Someone, perhaps funded or supported by the heretics, has been picking off orthodox scholars in the Royal Library one by one, mostly by poison but one by a simple cut throat. Nobody has found out who, or what poison is being used. If this is not solved soon, there may not be a Royal Library left to be poisoned in.

Arms Imports Halted
Elbreth lacks sufficient sources of iron within its borders to supply the royal army. Therefore, the army's arms are imported from abroad - the Duchy of Galam to be precise. Now, for no discernible reason, the imports have stopped and the companies in question are completely unheard from. Still, the situation is not completely hopeless. Weyland, to the north, has deposits of iron that could be extracted, although not the skill to properly forge equipment of the required standard. If an import treaty could be arranged with Weyland and armourers of sufficient skill set to work, this disaster could turn to our advantage.
