Janik turns to the sound of the door opening, then slamming, and gets ready to batter the door down to chase after whoever or whatever that was

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Edgar spins rapidly at the sound, scooping up the bag as he does so. He smoothly notches an arrow, letting it fall aimed at the door. If the door opens, whether willingly or otherwise, he lets it loose at the first hostile he sees - armed or clearly attacking.

'So much for subtlety,' he mumbles under his breath.

In a louder voice, though still far short of its capacity, he speaks to whatever was beyond the door.

'I'm sure your intentions are at least as honourable as ours, so drop your weapons and open up, and we'll all have a nice chat. Somewhat preferable to being skewered and broken, wouldn't you agree?'

Edgar has gained 13GP in a tiny bag.

At the sound of the slamming door, the party spins around. They call out, though the sounds of footsteps have already faded. Janik runs towards the door, planning to break it down. But when he passes into the corridor that leads to the door...

click!

A square part of the rough floor drops a few millimeters under the weight of the armoured knight. A trio of arrows are spat out of one the crevices in the walls!

The first and the third of the old arrows shatter against the chainmail, the ancient wood unable to stand up to the stress. The second, however forces it's way through the steel links between his shoulderblades, sending him staggering in sudden pain!

Janik loses 5HP.

The sounds beyond the door have faded to silence... it seems however was on the other side has left.

((ouch, on ac 20 no less. Must have been a high roll!))

Janik pulls out the arrow, and growls. So that's the way they wanna play it, huh?

Janik waits until any more traps are cleared, then breaks the door down.

"...Ahah! Well, who wants to be leader now?"

((Tryrar: Note, we have no skill-monkey. :P We can only bludgeon forward and hope our meager search skills will spot something.

I only have 8 Hp so I'm not leading!))

'I nominate the giant.'

Edgar winks at the group as he points to the barrels in the corner. Replacing the lids, he tries to push them onto their sides, and rolls them down the passage towards the door. If he can't manage alone, he motions for help from the others.

"All the arrows would probably go right over your head, Edgar. Or right through your ears, and out the other side, to no effect..." Heckled Thrush, though goodnaturedly, as she flapped over to help him.

Action: Aid barrel pushing!

'Bah, and I'm sure you'd just shoot them out of the air with you fancy lightning blue-eyes.'

Edgar chuckles as the first barrel topples onto its side ((Hopefully :P )).

'Save that for the pincushions. And not the ones that are our knight.'

He flashes a humorous grin at Janik, despite the blood seeping from his wound.

"I know, poor Janik! He won't make a good quiver-he can't hold near as many arrows, and it's sort of awkward to carry him around." She tsk-squawked.

Edgar chuckles as the first barrel topples onto its side ((Hopefully :P )).

((You just released the slime monster hiding in the barrel!))

Janik looks at the others try to roll a barrel as a sort of improvised trap clearer, and decides to help. He actually says some rare words! "Heh, good idea."

Help roll barrel, then batter down door.

It doesn't take long to tip a barrel onto it's side. It trundles down the passage, the slight slope towards the door helping it across the uneven floor. It nearly reached the door when another click sounded. A spear stabs out a split in the wall, demolishing the old barrel. The smell of incense fills the air. It's likely that was all the traps, and there physically does not seem enough room for any more.

Nethertheless, it is with caution Janik approaches the door, and after a few sharp blows, hacks a hole in it large enough to reach through and lift the bar. The party files though into a smaller room - the walls furred with large patches of bluish moss. Numerous sacks are scattered around the area, and from what you can see, they're filled with the same moss. A sturdy table with a half-dozen chairs crowds one end of the chamber, with a single torch burning brightly.

Thats all the time you get to study the room, unfortunately, as the door on the opposite side bursts open, and three burly figures and one wolf bound through. They're snow bandits, and the obvious leader calls out in common as they pause in brief surprise and hesitation.
"These look weak! Nothing compared to the crow! Kill them!"
With that, they ready to charge! Janik, Edgar, and Klikklak are already moving, though Thrush and Izalith are caught off guard by the sudden attack.
