Adventure mode problems
« on: October 31, 2014, 04:26:35 pm »

i am having a couple of problems in adventure mode the biggest one being that the only civilizations city i can go to that will show up is human and i know more then just a human city exists it shows up in legends viewer and on all the maps and when i find the exact area and it shows the *** there is nothing there i can still go into the fortress that show up and have like the queen/king of that area in them but the adjacent cities wont spawn?

the other big problem i have is advfort i am able to put down the workshops but i am unable to use them at all i even used the non masterwork workshops and still nothing and i tried every hotkey that should get them to work

any advice or help would be greatly appreciated especially on the cities so many people need "FUN" but i cant give them any :(

As always, it needs to be noted that MDF is built around fort mode exclusively, meaning that there will be a lot of odd or other unbalanced things for those that want to play adventure mode.

It is well known, but most likely won't be changed, unless someone undertakes the massive task that is testing and balancing adventure mode without impacting the fort mode negatively.

For the 55 people who did download V1.5 till now:  You human race is not working.
It is ok, I'm used to that in RL so why should my game be different :p

Masterwork still uses the last version of Dwarf Fortress where the only site type that existed was the towns humans use. Meaning that forest retreats, dark fortresses, and mountain halls don't appear, and I haven't checked, but it seems possible that all of the Masterwork civs except humans use those site types. Adventuring around in human towns works alright though.
EDIT:I checked which site types each civ uses and banshees, humans, and kobolds have city as their default site type. However, elves, naga, centauren, and werewolves have city and forest retreat as their default site type. Forest retreat is defined second in those cases and considering that in my checking legendsviewer maps for masterwork a lot and I don't remember seeing any of those in cities the forest retreat probably overrides that. Drow also have city as a default site type along with dark fortress which they probably use instead.

Its a feature. Impregnating booze is a planned tech tree for dwarves and this is a sneak peek at it.
