40.01 => 40.14 changes?

What changed in-between these versions and what bugs I should be aware of?

Let's see... IIRC, 40.1 was the "big debut" for multitile trees and pals. Things that have changed since then..

Major overhaul of dwarven mental function. Dwarves now have a complex arrangement of 16 different emotional states instead of the happiness meter.

Tree growth is more controlled and orderly. Roots grow appropriately now.
Fruit is collectable now.
Climbing AI has been improved
Various bugfixes.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

Various bug fixes is an understatement.

There have been a truly staggering number of fixes to the most problematic bugs the update introduced, along with a bunch of fixes for bugs that have been around since versions long past.

I want to tell you they were bad men, cephalo.  I want to tell you that with a better overseer the Fortress never would've gotten so bad someone would get offed in a pointless fisticuffs.

Various bug fixes is an understatement.

There have been a truly staggering number of fixes to the most problematic bugs the update introduced, along with a bunch of fixes for bugs that have been around since versions long past.

That is true, however many dwarves that migrate to the fort atm are unhappy constantly due to thier husbands/children/family not being there. Still the bugs fixed in between are still better.

Where're you getting 16? There's over 100 emotions and stress/stability instead of happiness...

I have to admit... the emotion change is such a big one that I'm almost tempted to wait a wee bit and see  how it works out, I'm staying put with 4:13 for now.  Besides, my dwarves are so happy... :)

Horrible speech crashes are now gone.
Invaders and wildlife now work more or less properly at Fortress Mode.
Clothing at dwarven/elven sites is now sized accordingly.

We're in a nice point to begin a long-lasting world in this verson.

my first quest was to seige a nemacrcors tower i killed 3 nemacrcors the got killed by a zombie fly.
How on earth did you manage to do that twice?
