Inspect: prototypes

You enter the room and look around. You see that some of the prototypes - the newer ones - have been moved into glass cases, each protected by a card reader. The rest are still piled in cardboard boxes like you remember. You have a bad feeling that if you don't have the right card for the cases, it might trigger an alarm.

Look at the unprotected older models

You look through the boxes of wires and chips, but you can't seem to concentrate. As you look around, you have the strange feeling of being watched.

Go back to the knocked out guards and steal their outfit, weapon, radio

[Tomasque]

You are halfway through changing the uniform when you hear the second elevator begin to ascend. You struggle the rest of the uniform on, and as you look up,[96] you see that the elevator has stopped one room above the lobby. That's the guard's lounge is located. And the camera room...

Locate cameras and disable them

You look around the room, [27] but with these damn shelves in the way it's hard to see anything. You seem to have gotten distracted, since you hear the elevator opening on your floor. Good thing your search has brought you into the corner of the original storage room. Behind you, you notice a door labeled "Advanced Storage." Somebody left it ajar.

Hide in there for now

You pop inside the room, closing the door soundlessly behind you. What you see is baffling. Rows upon rows of prototypes, all of them in glass cases. Most - if not all - bear a striking resemblance to the ChronoMouse.

See if there's a prototype that's unusual

You look at the prototypes. There doesn't seem to be a unique or different one, most of them are different from the others, if only just slightly. You do notice, however, that the more you go to the left, the less and less they seem like the Chronomouse. They all have nifty signs in the cases, too. One reads:

 "ChronoMouse-394

 Fires RAMN, but not to degree which is needed. Energy drains much too fast to make travel using RAMN discs possible. Layout too complicated. STATA does not work. IRENE does not work. No receiver module for self monitored installations. Data Screen incomprehensible."

Suddenly you hear the door handle turn.

You slide behind one of the rows. [62 + 10 vs 95] "Hey! You there!" he calls out, "Have you see... are you okay?" You notice belatedly that from where you are crouching from behind one of the glass cases, he must see you guard's cap. You hear footfalls coming toward you.

Yeah, dropped something.
