Spooky stories told once by Urist [Warning: VERY SCARY] (+70)
« on: October 29, 2014, 08:43:48 pm »

It was 9:30, everyone was sleeping. I was the only one who was still awake, playing Dwarf Fortress as usual. I was on a quest to destroy a leader of an army. I looked for him in a cave, after all, warleaders' favorite hideout are caves. I went down, i went far down. Cave swallows and helmet snakes were something frequent. I slashed every single of them. But then...my companion was chatting my other companion, it looked like another common chit-chat that the companions do to spent their time. But it wasn't...it sure wasn't...
This was the most terrifying thing i have ever seen in my life. It was so unspeakably terrifying that even my other companion, a manly axeman, shat his pants after hearing such terrifying words... If you think your soul can withstand the horror that awaits you in that "Spoiler" button, take a look...and sweet dreams.

It is terrifying.

Also, why are they OWL axemen?

Nevermind, noticed your personal text. Bay12 is actually a major proponent of Universal Owl Theory. Universal Owl Theory states that everything is made out of smaller owls. Except owls. Owls are made out of larger owls.

EDIT: As for actual spooky stories?

While I stalked through the night, beheading goblins, each of them would say to one another:

Quote from: Goblins
Goblin[To Goblin]:Just now Rimchimneys the Furniture of Incest struck down a Goblin
Goblin[To Goblin]: It is terrifying.

I kinda disagree with that. In my personal opnion, our universe is actually a huge great horned owl, which keeps eating voles and shrews, getting bigger and bigger, which is something the modern scientists call "Expansion". As the owl flies, the stars may get far from the others, or they may get closer to some. Our planet spins as the owl combs his feathers after awakening. Our plants grow as the owl eats. Blackholes are actually pellets of what left of some unfortunate small mammal's bone and fur.

Somebody attacked somebody is likely caused by the "Cull Unimportant Historical Figures" option, just use advanced Word Generation and disable it.

...The Furniture of Incest?
