Stupid things found in thoughts and preferences
« on: October 29, 2014, 09:47:57 am »

Dwarves say dumb and weird things in their thoughts and preferences:

"I was near to a Cage. I'm very pleased." -Melbil Stettadled, Engraver
"I was near to a Seat. It's very interesting." -Kûbuk Thîkutīteb, Farmer

What weird things have you found there?

"I'm fine."
Despite losing a wife, everyone dying around him, and nearly getting killed himself.

"I'm happy to help."

You've got dwarves getting pleasures and becoming sexually interested in furniture now.

I noticed our new mayor had a worker chained for not completing useless spinning discs on time, which resulted in "I feel guilty" complete with was interested in a restraint recently... She was very good about it. She spent her time trying -and failing- to drink from the dwarwash pond, just out of reach of her restraint. Next fortress, I'm designing the justice area to have wells next to each chain. They could have fun playing with wells when they're tied up... Or possibly this fort, if I can work out how to put a second cistern under an area near enough to the food storage....

"I'm fine" was the quote from a dwarf who then listed what seemed to be an entire screen of pleasures and interesteds ranging from his bed, his door, someone elses door, the waterfall, food, drink, and basically everything in the fort. "I'm fine" can apparently mean all sorts of things, depending on disposition, I guess.

Mules gotta spleen. Dwarfs gotta eat.
Thisfox likes aquifers, olivine, Forgotten Beasts for their imagination, & dorfs for their stupidity. She prefers to consume gin & tonic. She absolutely detests Facebook.

Not directly from the thoughts, but as a result I the new effects. I just saw the announcement "Shorast Rithurol, Brewer is stumbling around obliviously!"

Been there before.

What the fuck. Is some random undorfed recruit now our new Darkwing? Hell, even Darkwing just managed to kill two clowns before he went down. It's beyond me that a frigging recruit in the Official Voidspawn Feeding Detachment managed a triple kill on Forgotten Armokhumping Beasts.

Joker, my mil commander, has killed a FB while getting her pet deer dead from said FB, her thought was "have you heard one of FB and deer?" She was never upset, had great sense of humor, but formed bad view on things fast

Whenever i read the "doesn't care about anything anymore" line, i instantly imagine a dwarf, sitting alone on a swing set. Just slowly rocking back and forth, somberly staring at the ground, and stopping every once in a while to sigh.
It's mildly depressing.
