Once in the tavern, Ooh-Ha notices the three men harassing the nervous looking fellow.

Then he notices the man fistfighting a soldier.

He walks over and delivers a non-lethal unarmed strike to the shirtless not-soldier one. Which, as an unarmed strike as a monk, does -not- take the -4 penalty :D

"And this is bad because... Ah, I see. You're worried so much about what others think of you that you will do anything to prove your manliness. Too bad it's having the opposite affect."

"Mm, THOKWALD uncertain if you missing point because you stupid or because you smug; THOKWALD meet many of both. Where THOKWALD from, name is more than name. Name is promise of future by sire and dam, name is core of identity. To abandon name in spirit or letter is to abandon truth of self."

Quote from: discussion with nervous guy
-snip-
The nervous guy gulps.

"S... so you'll... do it? We... we think... they're coming from the east... I have this map..."

The man draws a folded slip of paper from his pocket.
He walks over and delivers a non-lethal unarmed strike to the shirtless not-soldier one. Which, as an unarmed strike as a monk, does -not- take the -4 penalty :D
You punch at the shirtless guy, but he dodges!

The shirtless man yells in rage, pulls an axe off a nearby table, smashes the table, and swings at you, missing terribly!

Woo! Punch while in grapple! Rinse, repeat until grapple is busted, or guy is unconscious. Still doing subdual damage here.

You punch the guy. He struggles against your grip; finding it completely solid and immobile, he drops his axe and begins shouting.

"I yield! I yield!"

Vanitate rolls his eyes at the brawlers and at THOKWALD. Sigh.

<>We will deal with it. We being THOKWALD, that one and the wrestler over there.<>

Take map and examine it. Try to remember if you have any sleeper agents in the area.

You examine the map. You discern the idea that the bandits' hideout is somewhere in the forest to the west.

Before the man can answer your question, he runs to a boarded-up window, smashes it with his axe, and jumps through. You hear somebody nearby mutter, "Every time..."

Thokwald grins toothily, "Is okay, THOKWALD can tell little man has name envy. Is common. Killing bandits make little man feel better, yes?"

"...THOKWALD never did get ale. THOKWALD think service here sub-par. But yes, other little man, THOKWALD and followers will stab the bandits. How many in attacks? How armed? Does not matter in long run, but THOKWALD hold out hope for good fight from bandit scum."

Ooh-Ha turns to the three men harassing the nervous fellow, seeing as he was mentioned. He goes over and stands by silently.

You abruptly note a pint of beer on the counter next to you.

"I... I'm not sure how many there are... they're armed with all sorts of things, spears and axes and swords... thank you so much."
