Odd Titan corpse

My dwarves killed a titan. I checked the corpse(coral), and found its contents has some human blood.
I closed the game using dfhack and battled it again. This time its contents became troglodyte blood.
So does a beast like that smears itself with blood from random victims it has killed?

Guess I can check that in legendary mode after I retire the fortress.
