1st of Granite, 131The assembled dwarves watched the woman on the table as she told them why she should be in charge. She made some good arguments; for one thing, she was alive, which was more than could be said for a few of their previous leaders. And she didn't have multiple copies of herself running around like that flabort guy.
"Stick with me," she was saying, "And you'll never go hungry again!" She seemed vaguely disappointed when no one started goose stepping.
"Hold on," someone in the back of the crowd said. "You've been here for six years, and this is the first time we've seen you speaking in public! How do we know you're not one of these
traitors we've been hearing about?"
"That is a very good question!" beamed Deus Asmoth. "Now, let's get down to business!"
Asmoth's LogI've started preparing the lower levels of bedrooms for inhabitation. I doubt that our population will ever swell enough to fill them all, but it's best to have the rooms and not need them than to get murdered by a berserk insomniac.
5th of Granite
Asmoth's LogI've discovered why my predecessor was so eager to give up his title of overseer with so little warning. Turns out the jerk left command of the fortress in the middle of an attack by a wererhino, including having the military charging right into the beast. We lost five more, plus however many died before the end of last year. It would have been a lot more if not for the beast turning back into a human while a few members of the militia were conscious enough to bash his brains in. (
