I fail to understand how if your internet connection is anything faster than smoke signals there would be a problem.

Indeed. Tir, even if you can only post the save file and a very crude description of the turn, that would be preferable to the alternative, which would mean your turn gets skipped and you lose all of your work! You can edit in more stuff later, but the time limit won't budge.

HMR stands for Hazardous Materials Requisition, not Horrible Massive Ruination, though I can understand how one could get confused.

Because I was really planning to put in a story for it :< Which...coincidentally is half-baked at the moment. Will finish up later on and upload the save.

Note ahead, I'll be detailing the base defenses given that I used a switching cue of lever-bridge defense; we aimed not to wall in, but provide passage. No use of cruddy traps and such.

Just pure dwarven steel as our defense. :3

I've been trying like hell to upload the whole thing but it won't upload [in time anyway] -.-
Grr this. So much. Had a lot accomplished. :-\
Creation of formal tombs, bedspaces, workshops and storages, frontal gateway, "portcullis", lever-bridge network, fast caravan escape (without walling off the edge of the map), revived military, shipment of iron, addendum to the crannog...
Strike me off the list? I was thinking about how a move down works but considering the large file sizes...>___>

On that note, SERIOUSLY increase the staircase size.
In the first unpause of the year when I remanaged manually the whole dwarf list into specialized-...
In which draft occurs...
Anyway. Major problems met? Err, let's just say something like

(had to cancel out all the other mining projects just to get the stairway dug out as a priority...)
Funny thing--I can see the corpses (...and how they died :S) yet they still have to be found? The latter saw the former anyway...

On that note!
Constructing on the crannog was fun ._.
I like how deconstructing and reconstructing places the material on an adjacent space instead of letting it drop down..

...bluh. >_>

Edit: As an idea to the bridge defense made in the early Slate [Slate 7 actually, just before I finished off that ONE BLOODY UNDEAD CAMEL with a nice bolt to the face so outside reclamation {and elf trade} can continue.]
...You've no idea how annoying it is to trade with only barrels ;_;

I'm guessing the spot on the river right by the edge of the map ate those dwarves?  I had about one a month fall in there, but they all got right back out.  I think they were trying to path across there?
