Ok, you guys will need to skip me.

Real life scum buckets have prevented me from getting any progress on anything the past couple days, sorry.

Might as well chalk it up to Pathos.
As this point we might as well invoke interpretive dance and call it a day.

How about for who's next we find somebody who's signed up for a turn and hasn't taken one yet instead of waiting a week per person going down the list.

I think that sounds reasonably reasonable.

Fine, fine.  I have alcohol.  I will get the fort back on track.

Post if you want to be re-dorfed.  I'll look at the save tonight unless there is an outcry of protest.

Which version are we using? I can take a turn this week or next.

I have no idea.  I'm running .19 and I can't seem to load it.  Of course, I may just be failing at community fort.
Scratch that, looks like it's .22.

EDIT:  Holy shit.
EDIT2:  That's a lot of undead.
EDIT3:  I'm ready to do this.  Or, at least, part of this.  Wait, I lied, I need to top off my drink first.  And by top off I mean from empty to top.

Well, I spent most of last night just looking everything over.  I think I unpaused just long enough to ensure the zombie horde wasn't making a beeline for some gap in our defenses.

At least for now it seems like the undead can't swim?  I really hope they can't swim.

Protip: Undead can swim. :3

...Yeah. Really.  :-X
* Tiruin totally pats Shakerag.

Undead can also climb.
And fire arrows.
And break down doors. (Tier 1 building destroyers, instead of the more dangerous Tier 2, as I recall.(

1st Granite, 130

The situation was looking grim.  Things were falling apart.  Players were not being timely with sending in their actions, and modkills had been doled out.  With the last phase, the game seemed in danger of collapsing.

The moderator decided to intervene.

There were ghosts about.  The moderator frowned, and ordered slabs carved with the roleflips of these dead dwarves so they could be ushered off to deadchat.

The players seemed to have been able to take care of things for the most part, but elements of the game needed tightening up.  Someone's "make magma workshops" ability seemed to be malfunctioning, so the moderator restored order to the haphazard situation.  Resources were being accumulated, but not expended, so the moderator gave out gentile reminders to process quarry bushes and pig tails, and that some players had "make clothing" abilities that were going unused.

4maskwolf uses his mayoral ability to ban the export of scepters.  The moderator shrugs and allows it.  The undead army at the gates would sort of hinder a trade caravan from showing up, but some players felt the need to use their abilities just because they could.

Some of the players seemed quite intent on using their abilities to train a ... questionable number of giant cave spiders.  The moderator noted that they seemed to be successful at this, and so decided to not address the issue and see if the players were eventually just going to supply copious amounts of rope to hang themselves from.  The moderator did enjoy seeing the occasional gambit.

Okay, you might need to squint a bit, but they're everywhere.

Oy.  It's bad enough that I usually forget where things are in my own forts; trying to jump into the middle of an ongoing fort is ... shocking.

So, yeah, we've got 90 undead units chilling out around the fort right now.  I'll admit that that makes me a little uncomfortable.  I think that is going to be Someone Else's Problem.

We've got a few unhappy dorfs running around.

First things first, slabbing some ghosts, ordering alcohol brewed, processing those pig tails and quarry bushes.

We have a crazy amount of animals.  There will be little mercy, but much soap.

I think I am starting to be inebriated enough to handle this.

May not be a bad idea to start in on some more coffins.  [Ed:  Huh, I didn't remember doing that the night before.]

And I think I'll try unfucking the magma workshops next, as someone can't figure out how to not get crabs while working with magma.

---

I think I ended up slabbing 4 or 5 ghosts.  One was a baby, and ... I can't remember the others.  No one who had been nicknamed.  [Ed: This was now the next day.  And less inebriated.]

---

2nd Granite, 130

Oh, I just noticed it could fly AND web.  Yeah, not touching that one.

---

At least they're downstream.

---

In other news, the unfucking of the magma workshops is underway.

Annnnd The Daggers of Good are now quite knowledgable giant cave spider trainers.

---

Whoever built a crazy amount of bedrooms, they now have doors and cabinets.

Another forgotten beast.  Different cavern layer from the last one though.  Shame, I wanted to seem them duke it out.  Forgot to grab a description of it.  I think it was some bloated alligator with two tails and poison spit.  Your usual cute and cuddly FB.

Apologies for the formatting.  It might be screwy until I find a nice groove to settle into.

Oh, and we're now running at version 40.23.  I'm considering updating to 40.24.
