Right, since noone else has suggested an area, Im going to suggest that BLUE starts at 28-F and RED starts at 28-G, excepting the support group, who starts at 30-B

You can place each individual squad wherever you want inside their respective deployment zones. You're meant to spread them out and position them carefully.

Yeah, we're attacking from both sides.

I tried to set everyone up in an area behind some form of cover, so we can spend a turn or two before getting spotted to better set everyone up.

Ambush tactics.

(I'd like to mention in passing that we are probably not getting more suggestions, and might as well start)

What the situation with radios in this game? 1 per squad? 1 per platoon? magically 1 per person? (or something in between, like 1 guaranteed per platoon + 50/50 chance for all squads other than HQ)

They're extrapolated away for gameplay reasons, but if this were just a fiction and not a game there would be one per platoon, maybe more. You guys technically aren't HQ. For your degree of control in this game to make sense (that is: a fine control down to the man over the deployment of all your assets) you'd sort of have to be all the commanders at once, which doesn't make sense, and if you were just the Major or the Colonel in charge you wouldn't have so much influence over the battle.

So we just skip all that nonsense and go the route of the RTS. You're a random omniscient being playing with his toys.

We're a general hooked up to a supercomputer that was salvaged from the future.

Makes perfect sense.
