I haven't forgotten about this, guys, but as I'm sure you're aware, retail schedules are utterly batshit insane during the holidays. I'll update ASAP, but that requires a chunk of time I don't really have at the moment.

Welcome to Day 13! Something horrible has happened! Read on if you dare, but it may not be for the faint of heart.

Yoink and Kal are awake for a new, exciting day! That, and food.

Speaking of food, I am deep frying something with no shirt on. That would not happen outside the Sims. This is the last time the deep fryer would be seen, as I nuked it due to causing other weirdness. Random sizzling sounds were heard all around the house for hours after I fried that cheese stick.

Kal regains a hat.

I took out the staircase, which was a serious bottleneck, and implemented FUTURE-VATORS! They're like the pneumatic tubes at the bank.

Kal is the first to try them out.

After the ride in the FUTURETUBE, Kal has a jellybean. Also, the stereo is broken.

And promptly starts glowing again. Is there a radiation risk, here? I'm not sure.

Yoink, Japa, and I sit down to a wholly unbalanced breakfast. All carbs for everyone!

Then Japa heads off to fix the stereo.

Kal works on some keyboarding.

Sappho starts her day off with a jellybean, too.

She also attempts to turn into the sun.

Japa decides that coffee is the way to go.

Yoink takes advantage of the fact that we have a high fence and some alone time outside. (The fence is chainlink, just so you're aware.)

He's not really alone, but there's a couple of walls in my sight-lines to the pool.

Kal and scrdest jam.

Sappho can toast her own bread without mechanical devices now!

Japa heads to work.

There's a small army of people left to help Vector garden. Good thing, too, because we pulled in $1,890 on the day, and Vector was promoted to Bushwhacker! Most of the money came from the specialized coffee beans that we've found in the Catacombs.

Barbarossa is late for work. Run, stickman!

No time for you, nemesis! I have a job to get to!

Since no one would take her lemons, Vector decides to eat a leftover porcini mushroom.

Burnt Pies decides to skip the garden, and watches TV instead. Cooking, hoooo!

Also, jellybeans. I seem to have missed getting a picture of her writing. She finished her latest book, "Legend of the Sports Agent," to the tune of $618/week, and started a new book, "Use the Suit to Recruit."

Some of Vector's plants have reached the ends of their natural lifespans, and have to be tossed out. She doesn't look terribly happy about it.

That nectar was sitting in there for a while, scrdest.

Let's make some more with fruits from the garden!

Japa begins working on a new scrap invention.

After work, Barbarossa decides to go for a celebratory swim. He's been promoted to cutpurse!

Sappho gets to work on a new sculpture.

Vector and scrdest clean up the place.

Kal hits the hay waffles.

Barbarossa is tired, and that's to be expected after a long day at work.

What the hell happened in here!? There's more water in the bathroom than there is in the pool!

That does not look promising.

Swim to safety, Barbarossa!

Or not. This appears to be serious.

Kal did not make it in time to save Barbarossa. indeed.

Barbarossa Bay12 has been struck down. Here lies Barbarossa. If you can't see it, the image on the plaque is a hand reaching above water. Nice touch.

Yoink is attempting to bring his chess buddy back via defeating Death in a game.

He also appears to bribe the Reaper.

We're all very broken up about Barbarossa.

Sappho is still working away at her sculpture.

It's too bad ol' Grim has had centuries to play chess against the best. Doesn't take long for Yoink to lose.

"Sorry, mate, I tried best I could."

scrdest and Kal mourn loudly, as well.

Kal then takes frustrations out on a giant block of ice.

Sappho makes...what else? A chair. A very nice chair, but a chair nonetheless. It sells for almost a grand.

Sappho begins a new sculpture, using some of Japa's scrap metal.

RedKing gets home from work and hears the news.

Wait, hold up, RK and Vector are sitting down watching TV without trying to kill one another? Perhaps the mortality thing is kicking in.

Japa sets out to upgrade a computer.

Well, that didn't last long.

Vector goes and grabs a coffee.

Yoink has an idea. I think. This could be bad.

Well, at least he put on the safety equipment.

Vector goes shopping online for a new gardening book. The old one is not advanced enough for her now.

Instant, free delivery! Amazon wishes they could do that.

Where did the safety equipment go?

RedKing has not mastered the new elevators yet.

Sleep time! I hope he doesn't have a concussion.

BP heads to sleep, too.

That computer that Japa was updating? Yeah.

What in the world is Kal making?

Japa gets back to work.

Aha. This sold for about $250.

Well, that didn't end well.

No lights out shot tonight, folks. The fiasco with Barbarossa has screwed up everyone's schedules, and totally screwed up the day, too.

Some Sim drowning to death with the gravestone being a hand reaching above water is just sad.

RIP Barbarossa. You died the most common Sim death, and no one had even removed the ladders.

Also, MZ, did you manage to get you tattoo onto your Sim, or does he have a similar-looking tattoo (it's hard to tell at this resolution)?

There's a sort of similar looking one in one of the expansions, although I did have to change the colors to all black (IIRC it's purple and red!) and change the size.

• Come home to find that one of the only people in the Haus to like me has drowned (THIS IS WHY I'M HYDROPHOBIC, PEOPLE!)

• Sleep
