"At the moment? Enjoying a moderately filling meal in preparation for future exertion and possible time on the run. In the next few minutes, probably fighting through swarms of undead," Sharos says plainly before pausing to take a bite.

"Say, do you suppose that the evil undead army might be related to the evil artifact we handed over to that chap last evening?"

"Perhaps." Devon says, finishing off her meal. Peek out to see if the carnage has died down a bit.

"We handed some artifact to a shady wizard-type employer, paid well too."

Sharos' chewing slows, ending with a long swallow. He pauses thoughtfully, stroking his bare cheek absently, "Ahaha... to tell the truth, we actually... didn't," he chuckles weakly. "Not to suggest that we did not, in fact, deliver a rod matching the cheapskate's description to his hands and receive payment for the same, but there's a slight possibility that the rod we handed over was not the rod we were paid to retrieve." The half-fey's dusky wings vibrate slightly, a slight hint of nervousness in his casual stance.

Venena gains a faint smile as she begins to speak,"Are you saying there is an identical rod that he actually wanted but we gave him a more powerful rod? If you are the cause of this... You clever bastard. When we enter the next non-razed town I'll buy you a drink." Venena's eyes look devilishly at Sharos as she ends her sentence

"NotquitewhatImeant," Sharos spits out. Slightly more calmly, "Rather, it was... a fake. A duplicate. A worthless bit of material. And so, in the light of the new day and rather heavy fires, I can't help but wonder if I have less-than-inadvertently displeased our erstwhile client."

"Still the cause, still a drink to be bought, eh? Would still be very satisfactory if we inadvertently burnt down other towns as well, with or without the undead."

"I can't say I really like the thought of that. I'd much rather be burning undead; I only did it to spite that too-obviously ill-intended arse, and certainly for no reason beyond that."

He pauses.

"At any rate, none of this does anything about the pressing problem. Or the clawing problem, the biting problem, or the host of other problems associated with yon horde of reanimated corpses. Ideas?"

"Well, there's disguising, sneaking, and fighting. Perhaps even trying to find a leader to speak to would be available idea."

Sharos offers a dry response, "If you want to try walking out of a city full of those things while disguised as a walking corpse, don't let me stop you."

"I had never suggested any of them being the most intelligent idea. But I could listen to your suggestions if you have any to produce."

"Oh, I was honestly interested in your thoughts," Sharos replies, "After all, my typical response would be to fly away. Maybe try to carry someone else, if I saw anyone light enough. Shoot fire arrows to burn them. Actually having to deal with problems instead of avoiding them is rather out of my usual experience."

He coughs awkwardly, "But only in the sense of 'problem' being this specific situation with the undead and such, of course."

"If there happened to be any flying undead you too would be in the same situation as us non-fliers. Though we may have to resort to combat against the undead, but if there was someone in control we could arguably attempt negotiations, flee if they prove aggressive, or simply backstab them as undead run amok." Venena sighs as she adds, "I would expect death as the most possible outcome."

The streets are littered with debris but it seems that, for the moment, no undead are in this particular part of the city.
