"Until the morrow, then," Sharos nods.

”Right…” asked Feckle as the group left, ”Anyone know a decent pub round here? I may also have a little shopping to do.”

Feckle walked out to where Dimble the Badger was tethered and gave him a sturdy headrub before mounting up and proudly riding down the centre of the street in search of merchants.

Look for either a shop that sells badger armour, or that sells potions or similar.

Find an inn. Try to balance cost with quality.

"I'll be... searching for a decent inn."

You already know of the potion maker's shop. Would likely have been wise to bought a few things there. As for a shop that sold armor for badgers [more specifically mounts] you were having a bit of a hard time finding any. At least until you stumbled onto the Horse's Mane [and what a clever name it was]. Now the only thing was to choose where to go first.

Find a common inn that offers relatively nice accommodations and meals

Go to the Horse's Mane first.

"Excuse me sir, but do you have anything that could provide some protection to... a badger? About this high? Unfortunately my budget runs only to around 90 gold pieces, and possibly a sickle if you wanted one..."

If the answer is an outright no, then Feckle goes to the potion shop and asks for 2 CLW potions...

The man tending the store seems to be unamused.

"Why are there so many asking for badger armor? Badger armor. Badger armor. I founded this store to help horses! It's in the name! So many badgers and riding dogs. Bah! BAH! I have sold one, ONE, set of armor for a horse! I've run this store for years! THERE ARE ONLY TWO STORES THAT SELL ARMOR FOR HORSES!!!" the man throws his hands up "Whatever... I've got padded cloth for 10 gold, Leather for for 20 gold, or Studded leather for 50. I loathe badgers."

”Oh. Well. I see. Sorry about that.” Feckle had never met anyone with such strong negative feelings about badgers. How odd. ”I didn’t mean to offend you. When my larger companions are renowned and wealthy enough to possess horses, I shall do my best to direct them to your establishment for the equipping of said horses. Could I have the studded leather please? Do you have a choice of colours? And what kind of people are these that have been asking for so much badger armour? I have met no badger riders this far south, myself. I would be eager to meet some.”

"I'm sure." The man appears to have heard that particular promise before "I have many colors. It'll take a day but that is included in the price. And they were all like you. Heading northeast for some reason. I don't tend to pry."

”Ah. Some great prince assembling a mighty horde of badger riders, mayhaps. I should dearly like to ride with them in battle! Anyway, perhaps another time… Dimble, my badger, would quite like purple, but if you have any colour available immediately I’ll happily take that instead. I shouldn’t like to place an order and then be whisked away by my hasty companions!”

Order a purple set of studded leather armour for Dimble the Warbadger!

Then go and buy a CLW potion. And try to sell my spare sickle.

One by one the party eventually fell asleep though Feckle stayed out much later than the others and eventually came back to the inn appearing much less 'there' than usual. A strange occurance but nothing too far out there the others assumed. Thus did hours pass. [+1]

The next morning the group awoke in the inn with the smell of smoke drifting through the window and the faint sounds of the screams of dying men and women. Something had gone terribly wrong.

Devon stumbles drowsily from her room. "Gods above, why can't the death and destruction wait until after I've had my breakfast?" She yawns.

Peering blearily at Devon from his own room, Sharos replies, "It probably can, if you're up for ignoring the screams. May have a wee bit of trouble with the service, though."
