"Do you have the contract on hand?"

"Or more appropriately, our pay," Sharos asks dryly.

[Nerjin]

"Damn it all! Of course I do! You get the rod. Give me the rod. Then you get your reward. All plainly spelled out in the contract!" Slamming a small scroll on the table and unfurling it you see that each of you, including the man, have signed a contract. It specifically states that the reward is not to be received until the rod has changed hands. "Now quit your dawdling and give me the rod! This was never part of the deal."

[Kassire]

"It's not that we want the reward immediately, I simply want to discuss the specifics of the payment. Name your number."

[Flying Dice]

"We've already negotiated that, I believe. I'm more anxious to see that you have our reward. Too many days doing work for farmers who suddenly forget their promises of a meal and hay loft, I suppose."

[Silthuri]

Devon steps forward. "Please forgive my companions' selfishness, my lord. Here is the rod, as requested." Devon places the rod on the table.

[Nerjin]

"Ah yes. As agreed here are your rewards." The man placed five small pouches on the table. Each of the party took one, leaving a fifth that was intended for Eastley they assume, and counted out the contents. Each contained one hundred gold pieces. After a few seconds the man gave a small cough to gain your attention.

"If you are interested I may have another task for you. Simply stay in the city for the night. I will have a simple task in the morning that will yield an even greater reward."

"What a thought, a simple task that would yield more pay than the actual task that required quite a bit of effort."

[Flying Dice]

"Details are wondrous things, you know, and equally deadly when absent."

[Nerjin]

"It's all perfectly safe. I just need you on hand for an associate of mine. He's been rather... unwilling to put up his part of a deal. All I need you to do is stand around and look menacing and able to move quickly. People are more likely to try to run out on a deal when all they see is an old man."

[Kassire]

"Does the rod do anything with the deal?"

[Nerjin]

A brief pause.

"Only in a round-about way."

[Kassire]

"May I know who the person we will be intimidating is?"

[Nerjin]

"Does it matter? Some fool by the name of Darian."

[Kassire]

"Very well. Is that all you need to tell us?"
