Bow to the bird - then talk to it - ask it if it wants to be summoned again, or if we should spread the word of never to summon it again.
-1 because that would mean standing still long enough for the bird to eat us

Let's not summon gods we don't know the alignments of in the future.

Anyway, when we first learned the summon spell, didn't Dublin warn us about entities who would "work against you until they are dispelled," or something along those lines? It isn't much to go on, but maybe we could try dissolving our resident magma bird by yanking some of our mana away from its body.

Failing that, it should go away on its own. Eventually.
Since we gave it barely enough mana to summon this should work.

"So, What's a hot chick like you doing in a place like this? Let's you and I head upstairs and burn a trail through the nightlife?"

You aren't sure if it is female, but you'll be damned if it doesn't work for those bards.

Either way, it seems your smooth talking has only delayed your escape as it continues to edge forward, like it is waiting patiently for you to escape so it can start chasing.

Your party picks this moment to slide in, Instantly catching the Firebird's attention, it's head shoots up and it begins advancing much faster.

You snatch a book from the chest next to you, grab Johnny's boomerang, Try to dispel the summon and yell to your team.

"TIME TO GO GUYS HURRY UP!"

As you shove them bodily back onto the chains and begin your escape.

The entire tunnel behind you is flooded with magma, from the Firebird apparently exploding, and it is a miracle that you manage an escape of any kind, but eventually, you indeed manage it, Getting the hell out of the building, and back to Dry land.

The bottom floor of the castle is flooded with magma, oozing out of the doors and windows. +2 Pontification Points.

Bandits surround you, Grilling using gold bullion as the grate. They stop and stare, before one of the Eleet yells out:

"Ok boys! Boss got styled on, time to go job hunting!"

Groans and moans of disapproval sweep through the crowd as they slowly start to pack up everything.

Looking at the book, It just says "Thevious Racoonus" On the cover.

Opening it reveals a large number of abilities, most of which you seem to be able to learn right off the bat., Abilities are essentially physical spells, you spend Elbow Grease in order to achieve an effect, learning them requires both Pontification Points, and Elbow Grease, Representing both learning and training the skill. you can also improve their effects by training them further, spending only Elbow Grease.

In short, you spend PP and a flat EG cost to try and learn it, Spend EG to use it, and Spend EG to Improve it as well.

There is also a strategy or two in the book, Detailing lesser aspects of Thieving.

You have become a budding Halfstaff user, Improving combat with weapons and weapons like it.

Do we still get plot armour if we run away from the true-final-boss?

It's in our hand, that's basically ownership...

Do we still get plot armour if we run away from the true-final-boss?
Does it count as a boss if we summoned it?

>Offer these gentlemen employment in our humble venture. If they refuse, offer it harder, with our spear (then pack the corpses for later).

its ownership is decided magically.
conditions here

Quote from: the guy that just summoned a bird of fiery death
"All of this magic, So much of it powered by blood. there was bound to be a few side effects...
The spear needs a proper name before it will function, even as a weapon.
Barbs are all along it due to the blood-steel ritual involving so much raw
blood energy.  You will not be disarmed, even if it is impaled in
something far larger than you.
It's Hook design has changed, now
it resembles a Fishing spear almost, with an inescapable Prong design.
It will not stop until Something is drained dry of it's blood.
Lightning arcs along it everywhere, which will become more intense as it drains away blood.
It's Hatred Causes Drain to the user. Constantly Boiling their blood. 1d4 HP will be lost per turn while held.
The lightning causes such intense heat that it must be quenched in blood at least once a day, or it will become unusable to most beings.
Every Strike or pain caused by the weapon heals the user.
If it is not used or Fed for more than 1 Day. It's Soulbound will change ownership to the next best candidate.
it's hold cannot be broken. Only the target's and victim's can...
If the grip is lost due to intense damage to the user's limbs, Ownership transfers to the Target.
Spear may have other powers when sated.
If blood from a pure hearted being touches the Spear. All spells detonate, Dealing 20d5 Damage to whoever is soulbound to it. the spear is tuned
into ash.

This spear counts as a X10 Staff for all blood spells, reducing cost."

It seems this is the condition we need to worry about.

If we don't own the spear, it's possible we could re-align it via this clause:

If it is not used or Fed for more than 1 Day. It's Soulbound will change ownership to the next best candidate.

Obviously, that would have major consequences should we own it already. I recommend the use of a full identify scroll to see what's going on here. After that, we can be sure to take the correct course of action.
