While this wasn't stated at the time, there are several metamagical feats in muscle wizardry, including one which allows spells to be stored in Valerik's muscles, using Elbow grease for Mana and vise versa, and the ability to pose to restore a limited amount of mana a day. These are high level ones however, and weren't Seen in Valerik's original glancing over the book.

In case it wasn't explicit, Most spell books owned have more spells than are on the spell list, but their prerequisites are all of the spells that you currently can learn. so once you learn Vlad's offering for example, you unlock around three more spells. This represents you being well versed enough in that branch of spellcasting to continue your study of it.

(edited my previous post to include some more commands and stuff)

Sounds like Artifice is a solid Must Have then!

I'm thinking Artifice, Dimensional, and Seige Warfare might be the best choices. Dimensional is about stuff like portals and things bigger on the inside and multiverse travel and maybe somethings about growing and shrinking, right?

Yes. It includes all of those at some point.

The engine is already full.

You cannot see the sigil, But decide to dig up and straight, Not finding anything yet.

While digging, you think probably not. That device is more complex than it seems, and is decidedly not magic based itself. Probably something about it's materials and design allows it to drain mana.

Giants? They roam in bands across your homeland, Originally, the bones of one such creature were used in creating your Tower, or parts of it.

Simple enough to kill. Either make something big enough to kill it, Or Get your hands dirty with some big ticket spells. If you use a horde, it actually impedes you since they can see it better than one tiny Lich with a big Grappling hook, and Mithril Plate-mail. They vary from the size of a building, to large enough to cause earthquakes in their wake.

You dig forward, still nothing, You feel like you are getting close though.

Are we sure we want siege magic? It would probably be useful if we came upon a fortress or something, but it seems like muscle magic has things we've been struggling with a bit, like mana recovery and bolstering our own strength (which might be useful given the how we've fought some opponents with our own body already and apparently the adventures may involve us going almost solo). All the spellbooks seem useful (yes, even "silly spells" probably has a few things we could use) so I don't really care what we get, but muscle magic seems to be a point of disagreement...

Muscle Magic does seem cool. AndI bet fiddling with it a bit could lead to a sustainance discount on our zombies.

+1, but replace Siege Warfare with Polymorphing and other Green magics, by Pries Omen. Polymorphing is very powerful. I also support replacing Dimensional Magic with Time or Muscle Magic. Time Magic might break Shadestyle though.

Maybe we should get that book on how to break fate so that we don't have to be captured by paladins (can we hire an actor so that we can satisfy the scene at the beginning of this RTD?).

I didn't even read it first, I just saw it was ATHATH and noped it. Now that I read it x3 to noping

I think dimensional magic would be incredibly useful. Siege should be replaced with muscle to cover our ass. "It is a foolish king who cannot fight among his soldiers" after all.

If we have dimensional magic we might be able make ourselves look like we are at two different places at once while we are actually in a safe place unseen.
Or we might be able to slip between the dimensional layers, Bypassing things such as walls and such to easily escape.
alternatively we could use dimensional magic to merely swap our position with something else (somewhere else?).

Pro-tip: Dimensional magic is good. May also allow you to create a star in the space of a small building if powerful enough.(example)

You dig up... Success! You find something orange and important looking.

Spoiler: Current votes are for (click to show/hide)

Which means the three books obtained will be

Dimensional magic, at three votes.

Muscle magic at maybe two and a half votes?

And Artifice at two votes

Is this cool?
