You're going to get the zombie destroyed if you keep trying to fight the acid plant head-on with it. Call it back out of range.

Your dwarf backs up, while the big skeleton bits through the vines as hard as it can, freeing it's head.

The plant's bulb rises high in the air and swells, purple spots covering it.

The big skeleton takes 1 Damage from acid.

Remember, the skeletons came from this encounter in the first place, losing one is still a net gain. Also, why does one of the skeletons (the one currently wrapped up by a severed vine) have different eyes?
