Hold on, if we got the portal from kicking away souls...

Plus, If we could harness this kind of magic offensively or even defensively we will have an advantage against our enemies. Just think: We merely create a flat plane of this stuff through the legs of an army or some such and they all fall down from Severed Leg Syndrome.

Remember, the stump is bleeding, so even if the leg wasn't vaporised and instead transferred to another dimension it was obviously torn off.
Also, we really need to start talking about our long term goals here:
Mine is to construct a forge capable of handling the heat of pheonix fire pulp and use it to smith weapons of glory.

If you want to allow for cool and awesome actions you could just add a bonus to the rolls for anything sufficiently cool/awesome.
This might also add another layer to the mechanics: What happens if you roll a 1 but have a coolness bonus? do you succeed? or does the bonus work against you and give you a catastrophic(er) failure?

I already have a system for that, and Items that improve your luck would be more effective In a coolness roll due to how I have it worked out. Items that improve your coolness Just makes those rolls more likely to happen.

Also, use the soup ladle to try and scoop up the purple thing in the portal. If it's close enough, that is; it might just be really big and a bajillion kilometers away.
