When we said "keep some mana," I don't think we meant "keep enough mana to make us literally explode." As in, 40-60 depending on the established limit.

While in hindsight the whole thing was a stupid idea, that was kind of a jerk move.

Well the fact is you were also infested with Volatile crystal, so the amount of mana just determined the degree of "dead" after that godawful roll to not explode.

Short temper aside, I vote for restarting from the beginning of peacetime. If I remember correctly, 90% of what we did is testing and such we won't lose progress on.

Also, let's drink some more nanites, or figure out another way to get rid of these horrid crystals. "More trouble than they're worth" is the understatement of the century when applied to those things.

Keep in mind that on a reset, Basically everything will go down a different path form that point, so all of your experimentation After Peacetime would have to be redone.

RESET.  This is a frivolous use of Plot Armour.  Just queue up the same experiments and let be.

Well, experiments and the trading... assuming this stuff is actually plotted out and not rolled off a random event table...

For balancing reasons, Random event table, nothing will play out the same

Spoiler: Pro/con list: (click to show/hide)

I'm leaning towards plot armor at this point, but that's mostly because I don't want to give up all the research we did.

Well, it's not the only valuable thing we got, we did get all those mechs and stuff, but if we exploded who knows if all our stuff is still intact...

How forcibly did we explode?

If you used the plot armor token? Most of the explosion was mitigated, you now have a giant volatile crystal sticking out of your stomach that you have to nonmagically, (Otherwise it could grow in the case of small amounts of magi, or explode again the case of larger amounts.) remove at some point, at which point you have clean bill of health for a long while, after you regenerate your gaping wound of course.

Surviving it also Intensifies your Explosive Phobia, grants you a Minor Lightning Affinity that you can train, and a Resistance to Internal Trauma that you can train.

What exactly would a lightning affinity let us do?

Also, how tricky would it be to get the volatile crystals out of our system if we did a reset?

((Added that stuff to the pro/con list.))
