As the Euroslavic Federation announces Advanced Unmanned Mining complete, a Colonizer detaches itself from Pelsk's orbital docks and burns towards Jupitor's upper atmosphere to mine precious rare gases and energy. +5 credits each turn from Jupitor.
The Impasser in Pelsk Charlie orbit ignores the Alien Probe for now and spends resources worth 20 credits scanning the skies of Pelsk Charlie. The increased cost is due to the distance from a manned colony: with no system of transmitters to draw on, it is harder to conduct a scan. A star system, PartFutureSon, is found located 0.81 warp units from Charlie. The Alien Probe, on the other hand, floats towards the edge of the system and blinks away, making a jump to FTL. This is the first alien encountered that hasn't engaged on sight.
The orbital docks churn out another ship, assembled directly in space (40 credits). A brand-new Erinyes gunship vectors towards the damaged alien ship, joining Amelia's.
Pelsk's labs start research into Production Efficiency, spending 15 credits.
The Scout that departed Pelsk Bravo earlier this year finally arrives. It seems that this system is not actually a
star system anymore--a long-dead dwarf star sits in the middle of a giant field of scattered rocks and planetoids. With the advent of Advanced Unmanned Mining, it may be possible to mine the system for five to ten credits a turn. There are
a few ion drive exhaust trails in the system. The Scout notices a pair of
Alien Scouts on the far side of the asteroid field. They maneuver to engage. One of the scouts fires its twin photon drivers at Pelsk's ship.

Amelia of Kasselyn spends 50 credits to finish up Extra Trait research.
Every faction can now choose another trait, different from their original one.
She orders the weapons stripped from an Impasser and sends it towards the alien ship. It tries to communicate, sending a signal on every band it can imagine. A response finally does come, but the signal is incoherent and doesn't seem to resemble any sound. The Alien Gunship continues on its path, which seems to angle past Earth for a gravity boost.
Amelia's colonizer launches from Earth's docks and colonizes Pelsk Charlie Prime, naming it Ve!
Thanks to Advanced Unmanned Mining, it yields income of 15 a turn.
Amelia constructs an Erinyes gunship, spending 40 credits. It escorts her unarmed Impasser to greet the alien gunship.

Zhakarov of the FederationMore research is conducted--Production Efficiency along with finishing off Advanced Unmanned Mining, which raises all unmanned colonies' income from 10 to 15, and allows colonizing of non-planet places.
The Colonizer Alpha is sent into the asteroid belt to mine the asteroids, yielding 5 credits a turn.
The first scout is sent towards ChooseSoldierNobody, and will arrive next year, in 2 turns.
The second scout is sent towards HatBeyondGreater, much closer, and discovers its single star solar system. It has two colonizable planets, Prime and Beta. There are
many ion trails. However, no alien ships are currently in the system. Who knows if it's worth risking discovery by aliens to colonize the system.
