(Decided to attempt to run the save in the newest version. Isn't crashing. Let's see what happens.)

Ordered the creation of the route into the mountain to serve as the main entrance. Four of us are on guard. Rest are mining.
Granite 18, 1050
Mined down to rock. Constructing retracting bridge across the canyon.
Granite 20, 1050
Bridge is under construction still. Started raining human blood, so that's a thing. Seems to be staying in the southeastern corner. Location may just be out of range.

I was wrong. Raining blood here as well. Ordered everyone into the tunnels. Going to need to check for anything that the rain may cause.
Granite 26, 1050
Bridge built across the 'canyon'. Stockpile area mined out. Offloading wagon. Praying goods aren't contaminated.

Took a look at the waterfall. Entire top of it was red with blood. Half wish it was elf blood rather than human. I say half, because the bloody idiots under my command probably would be frolicking in the stuff if it was the blood of elves.
Slate 11, 1050
Started framework for the mines. Ran into Microline quite rapidly.
Slate 20, 1050
Ran into damp stone. Got enough mining done to have enough stone for the construction of the gear assembly for the retracting bridge.
Felsite 5, 1050
Upon this date, an apparent malfunction was caused in the gears of the retracting bridge. Sadly, at that time the current overseer, Zanzetkuken, was upon the bridge. With the bridge gone from under him, he drowned in the waters below. His journal was on him, and after it was salvaged from the waters, much was damaged by the human blood rain and the water. The above is what has been managed to be taken from the remains. The leadership of the fortress is to be passed on to Pisskop.
Turn 1(General custom I follow. Named character dies, abandon/retire fort. In this case, however, it's end the turn and pass it on.)
