Twisted Metal - Space SG
« on: October 18, 2014, 01:35:03 pm »

Ninth day without a shower... Again. It's usually not too bad, planet side but when you are trapped in the confines of a vessel things become more, potent, so we say? The smell of unwashed bodies remains ripe, seeping through passage ways, mixing with the smell that wafts from engineering spaces, which can only be described as burnt metals, creating the odoriferous setting for the day.

You curse under your breath as you wipe the sleep from your eyes, after taking over for the last person on watch. The amber screens light up splaying golden light across the small cockpit as you fiddle with one of the switches.
"We gotta port soon or we are all going to lose our minds."
Mentally you rebut your own statement. You know that you have not scavved nearly enough to come back with any sort of profit, and with that thought enamoring your drowsy mind, you switch between scanning systems.

Nothing, nothing, nothing... "Must be the iron junking up our picture." You clear your throat and lean back in what was once a relatively nice pilots seat. You close your eyes (a dangerous thing to do, just waking up and all, but you are a dangerous person.) and take a quick account of your situation.

four Sol days ago you planted your vessel in the asteroid pocket around Reliquary in the hopes of scavving some sweet find from the killingfield between the Reliquary Militias and the JUK forces. Sadly it seems you have either been to unlucky, late, or stupid to figure it out. Now you are running into the last half of your supplies and your crew are getting restless with the lack of "Score".

An alarm on your watch goes off, bringing you from the point of passing out again, and getting lost in the shitty acoustics of the wire and screen filled room. "Well it's official," You shut the alarm off "We are now illegally trespassing. Lemme just add that to the list."

You mentally tally your criminal record in the next couple of hours until you are relieved. What the hell else are you going to do, right?

All fanfics are heresy, each and every one, especially the shipping ones. Those are by far the worst.

Speaking of lowest intelligence, that reminds me of the fact that it's probably your first time in prison. Don't worry, I can give you some tips, having spent some time in a few myself. The best way to make friends here is to drop the soap during shower time. Try it, I'm sure you'll love making friends like that!

You chew at your nails while pondering times gone by. Lots of failed pickpocketing attempts, a bit of B&E, one self defense gone wrong, one hit gone right, and now trespassing. You feel fairly comfortable knowing most of those records aren't tracked during the schism and a lot are from your home world, which you don't plan on revisiting any time soon. After you got enough money to get that craft, it was less that you chose the Windstrider, but it chose you. The name just kinda fell in as an inside joke that sorta stuck.

Once more you almost fade back into sleep thinking about some colonial teenage junky you used to crush over when a ping rattles the entire room.

You nearly fall out of your chair and grab the consoles. Info is spitting out rapidly and updating the heavily glowing HUD.

A vessel is approaching... a big one. Apparently the asteroids helped it sneak up on you. And continue sneaking right past you. Scratch that, it hasn't even noticed. A garbled automated warning reaches you, and spits out a bunch of angr Korean so they are definitely JUK, you maneuver around a bit, taking a little liberty with you hiding place and get a visual.

"Bingo!" A red and Blue painted gun less broadside with that yin-yang thing in the center. Oooh yeah That's a Joint Union Korean. I always thought the name a bit redundant, but it seems to do them fine. A big clunky transport vessel is pushing through the belt banging against asteroids. It seems to be going pretty fast for a vessel of that size, nothing you can't catch up with of course, just odd. Also another odd thing is that there seems to be no escort whatsoever.

You pause for a moment to think about your plan before you rally the troops.

In my defence she didn't start off as one. Her original name was Anita Belkerov. I changed it to Anita Skystrider when I realised the parallels between the two (same first two letters in first name, father non-existent, mother brutally killed, doing a revenge on the killers) and also it was in space so why not? Bit surprised GM didn't notice that there were only 5 burglaries to match with 6 B&Es, plus the murders, the backstory, and the obvious Skywalker cloning (cloning! Like in Star Wars! GEDDIT!?)

Stealthily follow the vessel.
