Have you set a minimum load at that stop?

Yup, with a short wait time so they don't sit forever. Also, how long should passenger trains typically be to make money? (There's a large city far away I want to connect to combine those passengers into my bus routes)

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

You might need intra-city stops, too.

The cities are connected(see screenshot, all of those passengers are going to different towns), and most of the towns are so small that a single bus stop covers almost the entire town. The only town that is big enough to reasonably support more than one has two, can probably support three but I don't feel like re-writing the line schedule.

Wow, putting a tunnel through a mountain to connect two large towns together immediately bankrupted me, even with only a small passenger train(good thing I saved first!). How do you passenger train?

I wish this game didn't look like ass.
I started the game with "pak" which I assume to be pak64, but it just looks so goddamn horrible.

I haven't looked at the option labeled "pak", I've been using Pak128Britain. I'm not sure on what your opinion of what ass is supposed to look like, so it may or may not still look like ass.

pak64 is very low resolution (even more than OpenTTD graphics when you use the original transport tycoon visuals) but has an economy +/- similar to OpenTTD in which it's possible to make profit with every industry and transport.

pak128 has much higher resolution so you can zoom a bit without hurting your eyes (and building and vehicles looks quite good) but the economy is extremely harsh, not every industry and transport (especially passengers) are profitable.
Though in my opinion the "rounded" terrain slopes are plain bad visually in pak128, they're better in pak64 with the squared ones.

On both paks unfortunately the trees make the game barely readable, they hide a lot (unlike in OpenTTD in which everything is still very readable) you can make the tree transparent, but it's still visually a problem, you're better with hiding them completely in the game options or make them smaller.

So, which is better, 120 or 112? I assume 120 is experimental. :v

120 is the release candidate for the next version of simutrans standard. It should be better than 112.3, but it might be bugged.

Experimental is different. Get it here:
http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=13772.0

It might complain about missing .dll files, in which case install the latest visual C redistributable.

Most builds are reasonably bug free. Sadly simutrans does look like ass on most graphics paks, they don't have a big community to attract graphics developer people.
Pak128 economy is harder but you can't say a given economy branch in it is just "broken" unprofitable. It all takes proper timing.

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.

Nothing is broken, just that some production chains are higher startup.  Booze is a great example.  Supermarket is the end result where you take the alcohol.  But to supply the brewery, you need glass and grain, which means coal and sand for glass.  Coal and sand means 2 trains to 1 factory, and because there's an outbound train that's going to be waiting at the station that means at least a double station (one waiting and one delivering), then take the glass to the brewery, along with grain, so another two trains leading into another double station, and finally one from the brewery to the supermarket.  So that's at least 4 stations, 2 double stations, and 6 trains.  Once you can get that flowing, then it's massively profitable, otherwise it takes some effort to make it work and lesser bank accounts can't take that risk.  Spend like 2-5 years running coal to power plant, with power lines running to the same coal plant, and you'll have enough capital to make your booze line.
