"True, be we may also just be able to bypass the ID system... Tell you what, you look for an ID while I check to see if we can just get around it. If we can, great, if we cant, well, lets hope we find an ID then."
See about opening the ID reader, gotta be some sorta maintenance thing, right?

"We might want to check around those desks, who knows, we might find one."
Go back downstairs to look for an ID.
((You didn't go up any stairs, the elevators were across the room.))

You look around again and are reminded that this area is unfurnished, but you look for an ID anyways amongst the piles of rubbish. [d20 = 9] No dice, just rags and junk. You also find some more human remains, bones stripped white. What could have done this? You actually trip over a hunk of metal at one point. This place really is a mess now that you think about it, it could use some cleaning up..

The ID reader is hidden somewhere inconspicuous in the walls. Where could it be.. [d20 = 15] After a little searching you spy a pinhole over the entrance of one of the passenger elevators. You retreat and approach the door again. ID required. As you thought. The wording tells you an ID is definitely a physical article one carries on their person, there's probably a little sensor in there that tells the computer whether an individual is carrying an ID. It's beyond you as to how exactly it does that, but you surmise you'd simply present it in your hand to confirm. Upon closer inspection (on tiptoes) you notice some inconspicuous screws securing the face of the panel protecting the sensor. Even if you could remove the panel, you question whether interfering with it will help you get inside the elevator.

You check to see if each elevator has a similar pinhole, and notice that all except one has a sensor pinhole.. You approach the door to that elevator experimentally. Nothing happens.

Look around for something to pry open the last door.

That bit of metal you kicked earlier would actually do nicely as a lever, and you take it. Gnarled metal rod acquired. The doors are smooth and fit snugly together though, you'd need something thinner to act as a wedge in order to create a gap wide enough for the rod to fit into.

Look for a metal wedge with a small enough angle then, like a decorative item of some kind.

You are unable to find a suitable object amongst the rubbish.

"Hey, Hank, theres an elevator over here that dosent have an ID sensor. If we can get a bit of a gap in the door we can try prying it open and climbing up."

"Well, if we both try to push it open with friction, could that work?"

"It might a little, but I doubt it. Got anything in that toolkit of yours that can help?"
