What?

Weapon Prof: Simple, Shortbow, Shortsword, Handax, Throwing Ax.

Longbows are Martial. Even leaving that aside, it's a slight nod to the fact that someone with his build/Str 10 probably isn't going to manage the pull weight of a proper longbow.

I suppose I'll have to find a feat that'll help my eldritch blast aiming for when I hit level 3

It's called "High Dex modifier".  :P

Seriously though, that's exactly why Dex is the most important ability score for blastlocks, even if they're going to be using enough essence invocations to make Cha relevant. Not least because Weapon Focus: Ray is an absurd waste of a feat, using a slot for +1 to hit. It's ranged touch, all you really need is a decent modifier and eventually a piece of gear with a +Dex enhancement on it. That said, since you pumped Cha and Int and sort of edged towards MAD-style point distribution with no negative modifiers, you're more likely than most to need to take it.

So yes. Weapon Focus: Ray, add your points to Dex as you level up, and try to get +Dex gear as soon as you can afford it. Beyond that most stuff for warlocks is specifically focused at pumping up the number of damage dice they get, because again, ranged touch = ezmodo with half-decent Dex.

Snip
I have to admit Venena wasn't built too good, more along of me thinking "This idea seems neat!" Anyways, thanks for the advice, it's appreciated as I would consider myself a newbie to DnD

Nah, I'm basically as new to it as you, I just obsessively read too much. Nothing here is terribly broken, so you'll get by fine, and playing is itself a learning process.

For what it's worth, Sharos exists (originally, at least) because I wanted to build a character who could combo Great Flyby Attack and Ranged Disarm to shoot the weapons out of the hands of a crowd of mooks, just 'cause. Which is a really, really stupid idea to base a character on, but it's cool and is inefficient enough to fit at this power level.

So I suppose you guys aren't ready, just yet, to fight the Great Wyrm Red Dragon with 26 levels of Wizard just yet. Good to know. Good to know. But for realsies: I'll try to keep the relative power level at... Well you're level.

Waiting for everyone else to take what they want/continuation of travel or decision to camp and recover. Sharos is indifferent either way.

So I'm thinking that in the future maybe I should just hand out loot based on... Well stuff. Cause this loot division tends to take a while. Would that be faster? Just be like:

Everyone
+1 Potion of Cure Light Wounds
+20 Gold

Person
+1 Masterwork Leather Armor

or the like?

Nah. Feels too MMO-ish like that. That, and it makes extra work for us with stuff like "You get a Longbow +1." "Can't use it, I toss it aside." or "You get X." "Too much weight, we've all got low Str scores and no extradimensional storage." It's taking agency away from the players without any meaningful streamlining. S'like making NPCs into either background fluff or plot dispensers who trigger DM cutscenes when spoken to.

Maybe it's just me, but the "kill mobs, get loot which is somehow perfectly tailored to your needs and level" is boring. Sure, it's sometimes nice to find a weapon which perfectly suits you, but there's more adventure to be found in things which don't perfectly suit a specific member of the party. Arbitrary or random magic items which we'll hang on to because they might be useful eventually. Stuff that's not targeted at a specific party member, and thus might provoke discussion re: "Who should get this, or should we sell it?", &c.

Also, just a touch of advice re: humanoid opponents like this: if a good chunk of the loot takes the form of equipment that the party can't use and doesn't want to carry, it's going to get left behind. Encumbrance penalties are bloody annoying, especially when there's no meatshield around and nobody has a mule or three.

--

That said, if it gets to the point where it's like this and someone/everyone is hesitant to claim the last bit of useful/portable stuff, just grab it. Even if it's not perfectly equal every encounter, who cares? It'll level out sooner or later.

Apologies for unintended absence, will try to catch up tonight.

edit: er, sorry. Right, so, could I have one of those potions I missed please? And... the scroll of Entangle? If a Ranger can use it at some point.

GM probably did not intend this to be 4th wall breaking comedy campaign. I suspect one of the humans took it.
