I think I'd do well in either the front or back.

I should probably be at the very front, given that I'm functionally our scout -- no, too obvious sneaky-finds-things-out-guy. Obviously in combat Sharos will be less 'in front' and more 'zooming around overhead'.

I'd say Venena would do good in the middle or the back

I think Feckle's best position depends on whether it's inside or outside (I mean in general, not just as we go inside now).

Outside it's probably more useful to use my spot etc. in the front.

Inside, it's possibly best for Feckle to be at the back. That way he can protect the two casters a bit, use Dimble the Badger to dash forward if necessary, and still shoot. He’s not very good at melee.

I’m willing to bow to superior knowledge though.

I have added a basic Marching Order to my sheet (under Conditions and Effects for now...) if this might help speed anything up in combat etc.

Quote from: Marching Orders
Wherever possible, Feckle will ride Dimble the Warbadger. Marching Order – front if outside, rear if inside.

Outside, he will try to stay at the head of the group to Spot and Listen and, where applicable, use his Survival/Track skills to see what is going on. This will be with his bow ready. If necessary to check tracks etc. he can get off Dimble the Warbadger and use his Pass Without Trace freely to ensure he doesn’t mess up the ground.

If he spots the enemy before they spot the party, he will warn the party and seek cover/try to hide, sending Dimble the Warbadger to the back with the command to Defend the rearmost caster. He’ll then wait to ambush the enemy with his shortbow.

Once more general combat starts, he’ll call for Dimble the Warbadger to Come, and then mount up and start shooting the enemy, riding away if they get within possible next-turn melee range.

Indoors/underground, he’ll leave scouting to the sneakier pair, and take up the rear on or next to Dimble the Warbadger as most appropriate. If combat starts he will try to stay near the casters, engage with his bow, and command Dimble the Warbadger to Defend him. If Dimble the Warbadger becomes engaged in melee, then Feckle will melee that enemy as hard as he can.

For any missile attacks, Feckle will prioritise shooting at enemy casters if they are obviously casters, then enemy missile troops if the other party members can’t get to them, then picking off the least armoured enemies if possible.

Taking 20 assumes you fail the check several times before success. Are you guys SURE you want to Take 20?

Also note that by RAW, I'd probably argue that you can't take 20 to hide from a nearby group of enemies at all.

Quote
Taking 20

When you have plenty of time (generally 2 minutes for a skill that can normally be checked in 1 round, one full-round action, or one standard action), you are faced with no threats or distractions, and the skill being attempted carries no penalties for failure, you can take 20. In other words, eventually you will get a 20 on 1d20 if you roll enough times. Instead of rolling 1d20 for the skill check, just calculate your result as if you had rolled a 20.

Taking 20 means you are trying until you get it right, and it assumes that you fail many times before succeeding. Taking 20 takes twenty times as long as making a single check would take.

Since taking 20 assumes that the character will fail many times before succeeding, if you did attempt to take 20 on a skill that carries penalties for failure, your character would automatically incur those penalties before he or she could complete the task. Common “take 20” skills include Escape Artist, Open Lock, and Search.

Whereas you probably could take 20 to hide yourself in an ambush position waiting for someone/thing to arrive.

It'll all depend. I'll probably do it sometime tomorrow. I should have been studying for this test tomorrow like... Three hours ago.
