Well, chimerat is currently not planting any potatoes, but...

The farmers do have potatoes. Tons of them, actually.

*Looks at his Scivener writeup*

Wow, Tacomagic Rigņthigėr is going to be one hell of a piece of work.

The absolute worst kind of cruelty is that doled out through a warped sense of fairness, benevolence, and good intent.

Yeah, I skimmed Chimerat's stuff, but I won't be held to it 100%. I do like the fact that she's not a skinny cook. She loves the "quality control" part of her job! :D

Are we going to split this into IC and OOC threads?

Aw shit. Everybody has arrived.

Nordinkel, mind throwing me the save so I can poke around in Legends mode? I always like to know what my dwarf has been doing with his life.

Forget a spouse, he needs a full time gonad wrangler.

The challenge of building a character so paradoxical is quite compelling, so I'm trying to keep absolutely everything in the generated character description while still holding to the persona.  I think I've got it mostly sorted, but still needs a bit of work.

A woman who, to her own mind, is empathetic and fair yet furthers an elitist society where systemic cruelty is the daily business is a neat character to write.  Furthering suffering because it is what the people actually need to unlock their full potential.  To take, destroy, beat, and kill all in the name of humanitarianism (dwarfitarianism?), while suffering the necessity that some must be sacrificed to the luxury of an incomplete life so that they may lead with their vision.  Schopenurist was right:  Life without pain is meaningless.  The sacrifice of the leading elite is that they must eventually succumb to that ultimate lack of substance.

The fact that she also abhors nature yet loves being outside will lead to a very interesting complex.  I foresee quite a bit of paving the countryside during her term.  I guess her war against the trees makes sense, though.

i will be doing that, yeah.

Thing is, i am kind of buying time through excessive creative writing, until i get an opportunity to actually upload that save. 1kb/sec is kind of an annoying upload rate.

Pretty sure I had a 64k baud in the 90's that had a better upload rate than that  :-\.

it will be sorted out in roughly a month i think. i am in the process of changing providers, but the old one was kind enough to leave me with rates equivalent to a dripping tap for the time being.

until then, i just head over to a friends place to upload stuff.
It's enough to navigate the forums and upload pictures in a matter of a few seconds.

Its probably for the best, because it prevents me from getting distracted by the evil mischievous things that are youtube and league of legends.

I'm off to sleep now because it's half past 3 AM.

you'll get part 2 and 3 and probably the save by tomorrow.

i will also updade the OP with all the dwarfings and the compiled additions and clarifications to the ruleset and create a clean, dedicated topic for Journals and In-Character shenanigans.

Until then, had fun today, good night everybody.

Not sure if dying of old age is an honor or a shame for weaponmasters. On the one hand, it means they never got the opportunity to die in glorious battle. On the other hand, it means nothing could beat them in glorious battle.

I'm still unsure of what to make of Digger, so have some mild comedy instead.

Since we're all getting into character, I thought I'd take mine out for a spin, too.

Glad this is getting started. Just in case you missed it, would love a dwarf, and a turn, at your leisure.

Somebody has to assist the good doctor in kidnapping acquiring some patients.

So... How did everyone's day go?

I actually had gaming! We played a FIASCO (Dragon Slayers), and it looks like we might start a D&D 3.5 game next. A long campaign, apparently.

Still, I look forward to posted for Chimerat again. [And to play the next update, once it's up with the fruit harvesting! I've paused my own game at the start of Spring once Toady made the first official mention of wanting to add that. Hopefully I can update my save...]

Hope the rest of you have had a good Saturday (or whichever day you were in in your timezone. ;)
