It's not about expies! It's about what's scientifically and/or magically possible! DBZ can be easily simulated and with practical results. It's not my fault that KJP made a magic system that 100% allows for DBZ actions. Blame him.

Magic systems: I don't mind the names being changed around at all IC or OOC (provided it's not for misleading people on OOC). To be fair, the fact that it got progressively harder and harder to make up names to fill up the cube should have been a big warning signal that the system would be unwieldy and difficult to implement. At this point, I think there are the following main options:
  • Use the SRD, which while not perfect, is widely known, and more importantly, tested (abjuration, conjuration, divination, &c. for arcane magic and sphere-based clerical spells for divine magic)
  • Have players bounce around ideas for systems and put it to a vote
  • Stick with the oversized system, probably incorporating the naming changes (Note: player-created magic can very well replace or add to entire paths in it during gameplay, but it looks less expandable without the big picture)
  • Design a tiny, minimalistic system organized solely by how much the effects of magic deviate from physics ior plot
