I want them to stop because we can't trade as we have no trade goods! we will trade when we do. Until then, there is no point.

Except the equipment is all defensive or magical, not weapons.
Unless elemental control counts as a weapon...

Removal is typically difficult without some expenditure of Essence to dilute and discard the taint.
