Does Azem's personality seem inconsistent to any of the rest of you? I'm just curious. I do imagine his personality as being like the two sides of a coin sometimes. What I call 'the slumbering dragon' and 'the waking dragon'.

You just came back as a screaming essence monster. Kind of says "permakilled" to me...
Incorrect. My body just turned into a screaming Essence monster because some bullshit Void monkeys that Varee made did something with my body. Doesn't mean it's a permakill, but it's nice to know where they're hiding out now.

I'm curious if the god of blood and souls your considering would get along with Grauel actually. Seems like they might have something in common depending on interpretation of spheres.
Probably won't. I'm going to focus on blood magic/oaths, inner strength stuff, and changing how souls work in the game a bit. If I'm going to make vampires as god of Souls and Blood, they're going to be the friendly neighbourhood type rather than scary Dracula-esque ones.

Shrug.

As long as I have at least few gods around who are willing to work with or against Grauel, it'll keep me occupied. To me, the presence of the interactions matters more than the type.

Speaking of, wonder why very few gods interact with Grauel. He's not that scary is he? :P

Edit:

but it's nice to know where they're hiding out now.

How would you know? From where the essence monster came from? Wonder if it's that obvious. A while back, for example, I thought you were killing my angels because it seemed the obvious answer considering you said you would. Then one of my angels died while yours appeared to still be regenerating or missing or whatever. So unless Yaos did it personally or some of your angels did actually return, it turns out it's probably not Yaos but someone who just made it look like Yaos (and intentionally or not?). I mean, Yaos is too weak recently to probably risk fighting personally and you probably don't have your angels right now... so probably not you unless you decided to take a big gamble but still unlikely and I can't see it being worth the risk. Then again if it was you then doing it while you're weak and your angels are gone would logically divert suspicion so that's a possible but far stretched motive... But then I can't really think of anyone else with a motive at all unless it's the GM (aka some non player controlled entity I angered) doing it but as far as I can tell, almost all things in the game tie in somehow with player activity... So someone besides you is probably either directly or indirectly attacking my angels but with a motive I am completely unaware about... and then of course there's the possibility it's multiple entities doing it and working together... And what if these actions tie in with some of the other mysterious things going on? Like it's all part of some weird void ritual or some such far out there thing.

It's like a mystery drama and I'm always stuck between suspecting more and less obvious answers because I'm always unsure if others would go for less obvious approaches specifically to throw off suspicion. Also I don't like acting until I'm absolutely sure of something so I rarely take any direct action on my own behalf :P. So Grauel doesn't really do much at all except upgrade his followers and occasionally make pacts just to keep things interesting. And a lot of my angel upgrades are mostly private because I don't want anyone knowing my angels' abilities and being able to deduce their weaknesses... not that it matters since they seem to die pretty easily...

Funny how unavoidable it is that a player's personality can't help but show itself in the character's personality. I often wonder if even a few of you have the weird thought processes I do.

Edit 2: I swear, I got no notification about ninja there. *Scratches Head*

It seems to be the norm that the gods keep to themselves and almost never work together.

By the way, if you don't mind me asking, what was with the message left when you killed my angels? I'm assuming it was you because Yaos mentioned trying to kill a few of my angels. I really don't get the message though.

I'm also rather curious about how you managed to steal their souls but I don't really expect you to answer that, haha. Quite dark though. Stealing souls and killing angels that are under pact to protect you. I'm so proud. ;)

"Wasn't us. We got some intel that the Harbinger of Doom was gonna do something so we - that's ALL of us angels - immediately went into hiding. Lette and Vaal are still in hiding. It was probably her. The initials seem to match."

There's no mystery. It was the Harbinger of Doom. So congrats, gman, you created a fate-immune, god-hating angel-killer.

You know something? It's been far too long since I did something to further the Grand but vague Plan. At first it was just because I had no idea how to further the Grand Plan. Though the creation of Gruen hybrids helped, thank you Gman.

Why would the Hooded Lady go after the God of Hunger and put her name on it? (Hodo=Harbringer of Doom?) If she wanted them to find her, she wouldn't have done it secretly.

Just because I said Harbingers would make a good angel name class, doesn't mean I made the Harbinger of Doom. In fact, if I had, I probably would have never even made that previous statement about Harbinger class angels because I would have already created a Harbinger of something and further unrelated Harbingers would bother me for organizational purposes. I'm pretty picky about that kind of thing which is why I suggested multiple angel classes in the first place. It's also why I only have one archangel.

If you still want to blame me for it then sure whatever. I suppose it's completely possible for some reason that Grauel made something that powerful without having control over it or at least knowing it likes him enough not to target him and or his followers. It would have to be a really far out there reason but I guess anything is possible.

Also HoDo doesn't really mean anything. Words are just words unless backed up with more. Anyone can write HoDo and pretend to be the Harbinger of Doom. It doesn't even fit completely. (H)arbinger (o)f (Do)om? What's with the needless extra o?

Regarding the quotes, Grauel (and I for that matter) appreciate confidential conversations remaining more or less confidential regardless of their apparent importance. Even before, Yaos wanted to make deals in private and Grauel was respectful of that up until Yaos began talking about the deal publicly while accusing Grauel of screwing him over in a deal, forcing Grauel to publicly defend himself. It ruins the point if you make private discussions public without the willingness of both parties. It also makes Grauel less likely to deal with Yaos and affiliates. Hell, Grauel probably would have been way more likely to help with the unintended problem even though it could have been at least partially the buyer's fault. The choice is still yours but fair warning on our preferences.

No problem. Grauel (and I) enjoy making Hybrids. It makes the worlds more interesting to Grauel (and me). Good luck with your plan whatever it may be. The more things going on, the better as far as I'm concerned.

One word.

Puppets.

Plans inside plans inside plans. The intrigue makes things exciting for me and I do quite enjoy digging into it regardless of whether I plan to get involved. It's like half the game to me. I hate to admit it but I'm actually glad I'm being targeted in a way. I was a bit envious of Andres having so much to do while I had so little.

Either to throw us off...or to prove that it is, in fact, Cim's Harbinger. Harbinger Of Doom/Order!

The Harbinger of Doom isn't an angel. It's that girl whose older brother was killed by the Inquisition and then her brother started dying of a fate-locked illness.

Sorry about that. I'll make sure to keep them private in the future.

I've died six times now and I'll just say that it's not fun at all. There was never any novelty to begin with and each time I die my power tanks and I have to wait ages until I'm capable of doing anything. I also heavily dislike the fact that I'm always the target for most of the crap that happens in this game for some reason. What I'd give to even have 10 max Essence....

Fun fact, the real reason Azem hoards so much essence is because I haven't clue what I want to do. Start the Keshan version of the Olympics? Try to get the Gruen to like me? Something else entirely?

Guide to Golemkind has been updated. Society and culture chaper is complete, and by complete I mean that I can't think up anything major I may have missed. This may change in the future.

Anyways, next planed chapter is relationships with other races, so I would apreciate if you'd all post what the relationship between your races and Golems are.

It is becouse Azem is greedy, obiviously. In history, wealthy individuals usualy either pushed forward art and science by supporting artists and scientists or atempted to claim dominance over as many others as they could. It is your choice to do either or something completely different.

The point of keeping the golems on fire isn't for the value of fire as a weapon. It's more to keep the golems functioning at a reasonable speed.
It was never a promise. It was a dirty lie, and you all knew that. You should all know by now that you can't trust a word I say.

I'm starting to think there is a severe flaw somewhere in the game design. Could you elaborate on this (PM or otherwise)? I strongly suspect a positive feedback loop somewhere, i.e. someone gets slightly more stuff to resolve, resolves the more stuff, gets more stuff in response, resolves even more stuff, [snowball rolling down snowed Olympus Mons] followed by the fair casino problem (or something?) where the casino has effectively infinite resources and the gambler has finite resources and will inevitably lose everything given enough time because a lot of actions cost something.

Just as a clarification, I don't consciously disfavor any of either you as players or your characters. I do consciously attempt to treat resolutions in conflicts as being based solely on strengths and weaknesses irrespective of player. This may still have not been enough to prevent some issues from coming up.
