Osiro shrugs.

"Well, I suppose this is one way of completing a mission. Sloppy, though...it'll make our job easier in any case, though."

He pokes the edge of his guisarme against the rope and begins to saw.

Action: Cut the rope!

Ava nodded to Osirio and began to run down the stairs, he feet pounding on the stone.

When the lift hit the bottom, she'd be on them before they could recover.

Osirio shouted to his other compatriots as well, standing there and gawping.

"The rest of you follow! Don't let her go alone-keep an eye out for surprises." He says to them, angrily. He knew Ava wasn't likely to bother counting the numbers of enemies left, or looking for traps on the stairs. He didn't want her to be harmed...

"You can stay with me, however, Mr. Robichaud*."

"That seems wise enough to me. Good luck Captain." Culpa says as he begins following the half-giant.

Osiro shrugs.

"Well, I suppose this is one way of completing a mission. Sloppy, though...it'll make our job easier in any case, though."

He pokes the edge of his guisarme against the rope and begins to saw.

It takes you a bit, but soon the rope is cut through. As it falls down, you see the light recede a short way, a great crash, and finally, the light disappears.

Ava sets of down the stairs, trailed by Culpa, Ari, Ithy, and possibly Osirio ((Did you intend for him to head down the stairs as well?)). After a time of walking, you come to the bottom. Arias and his escorts appear to have left already. A large, sturdy looking wooden platform is broken, with loose rope hanging off of it; the elevator, no doubt. The walls here seem much more natural than the sheer walls on the sides of the pit.
A tunnel is dug into the side of the stairs, evidently done by pick. A trail of blood leads from the broken platform to the other end of the tunnel, which leads to a large natural cavern. Through it, you see a man befitting Arias's description, along with three knights (You can't tell if they're flesh or clockwork from here). Arais holds a lantern aloft, and is walking with a limp. In addition, he's evidently the source of the blood, with a deep looking wound in his arm. The group doesn't stand terribly far away, but they are on the other side of a large chasm (How deep does this place run? How deep are you right now, for that matter?), crossed by a sturdy wooden bridge. A gentle breeze flows from the chasm; oddly, it alternates directions. It will flow outwards from the ravine for a number of seconds, before tapering off, and a new wind flows into it.
Farther into the cave, you see some of the blueish fungi from your encounter with the kobolds, though it numbers far fewer than it did there. Arias and his guardians don't seem to have noticed you quite yet.

Oh, the cavern is breathing. How reassuring.
Hide in Plain Sight and head after them.

Ava watched the drow hide in the shadows and run after them.

Then she thudded after them, taking a slightly different path than the one she thought the drow took.
"Vith me!"

Move quietly
Get close enough to Blood Wind one of them in the back/face. Bring the other's with me. If they get out ranged weapons, only attack with them.

Action: Osirio gets into range and joins the battle, ey? Guisarme poke on whoever is in range!

Action: Hustle down and join the party!
Flying down the steps, Osirio reaches the bottom much faster than the rest of the party, who were more vigilant in their descent. You reach the bottom in time to see Ava head into the shadows.

Oh, the cavern is breathing. How reassuring.
Hide in Plain Sight and head after them.
[17+12-5] Ithy slinks into the shadows and stalks after the group of four. She remains largely undetected, but as her foot catches a loose rock, one stiffens.

"Sire, I heard something."
"It's nothing, save the cave's moans.", Arias replies.
"But, Sire--"
"You question me, Reinas?"
"No, m'lord. Of course not. Let us continue."

Well then. It would appear Arias's confidence will be his undoing.

[Ava: 19+1][Culpa: 13+3][Ari: 16+2] Ava, managing to be surprisingly stealthy, leads the way for the party, who manage to remain silent as well. Soon, Ava is within range of casting Blood Wind, or rather being able to with a few steps; even a few feet closer would lead you into the corona of Arias's lantern. It will have to suffice. For now, you prepare to attack; at the drop of a pin, you could begin the assault.

Action: Osirio gets into range and joins the battle, ey? Guisarme poke on whoever is in range!
Osirio follows behind Ava, though not directly in her footsteps; instead, he opts for a more direct approach, and prepares to attack at Ava's mark.

((I wasn't sure if you intended to begin the fight or not, Gig. Assuming you attack, Ari, Osirio, and presumably Ithy and Culpa (Unless Harbinger or Nerjin decides otherwise) will join in on the fray.))

Avalanche took only a second to size up her opponents before unleashing a blood wind strike into the nearest.

Ithy loops around, avoiding the fight, and tries to get ahead of the fleeing enemies.

Ava begins the assault, stepping forward into the light after muttering her spell; with a brutal strike to the air, the nearest knight (Renais, apparently) reels with a bit of pain as the phantom hammer hits him; however, it would appear that his half-plate intercepted the worst of the blow, and he's left largely unharmed [12+3, miss]

Ithy begins skulking ahead of Arias and his entourage, preparing to intercept them if they flee.

Ari begins harrying the already surprised knight, kicking him in the shin and generally making a nuisance of himself.

Osirio steps forward, guisarme in hand, and thrusts viciously at Renais. [16+3+2, 6 DAMAGE] It punches through the thick armor of the knight, skewering him handily. Culpa, almost at the same time, steps forward and swings his flail. With a painful crack, the spiked ball comes down hard on Renais [20! (4+1)*2 DAMAGE] However, the knight, though now in pain, hardly misses a beat, swinging his greatsword at the cleric. [12+6, miss] Just by a hair, Culpa avoids the blade, and with a small eruption of sparks, the heavy weapon hits the cave floor.
Meanwhile, the other two knights mobilize, one moving to aid with the attack on Culpa, the other moving towards Osirio. The first strikes true, hitting the priest, and though his armor takes the brunt of it [1+1+2], he's still wounded by the blade. The second also hits [13+6], though still not in a massively wounding way [1+2+2 DAMAGE].

Ari, tired of merely harrying the opponent, goes for a more direct approach, swinging his morningstar into the knight's groin [20! 3*2 DAMAGE], to great effect. The knight doubles over in pain.

While this happens, Arias, in a somewhat panic stricken state, blows out his lantern, plunging the area into darkness. Though the echoes of the cave make it hard to pinpoint where, exactly, he's off to, he is very much off, sprinting at a breakneck pace.
Ithy, skulking in the now-more-complete darkness, raises her rapier to the fleeing noble in the darkness, located by her keen sense of hearing, and politely asking just where he thinks he's going.

Ava attempted to peer through the dark with her low-light vision. There, a shadowy figure, not the right shape for one of her allies.

Charge and Crush Renais!
