"I think I'll go somewhere else. This establishment... is sub-par." Culpa tosses two silver onto the table "For my drink."
So saying he leaves with the other two but immediately parts ways to find a tavern more suitable for his liking. Specifically: Somewhere with very few orcs and as cheap as possible.
Find tavern. Rent room. Sleep. Pray for spells. Meet up with the party in the morning.
The cheapest place around turns out to be the Furless Rat. It only costs 2 copper a night (You don't bother with a meal, since you've already eaten), and you quickly fall asleep, hardly even noticing the filthy sheets.
The rest of the party rests as well. In the morning, the party is informed that a courier left a letter for them last night.
Dear Intrepid Adventurers,
It has come to our attention that you've recently dealt with a kobold infestation. However, there is more to this than you likely know. We should like to call you forth and discuss with you the ramifications and meaning of what you've undoubtedly stumbled across during your period in the caverns. Come promptly at midnight to the space between 463 and 464 Thalin Street.
Expectantly,
Ulthra, Lord of Aretrian
Thalin Street. That's one of the streets in one of the wealthier districts. But, what's more surprising is the use of the term Lord of Aretrian. You see, nobody has been entirely sure who, exactly, rules Aretrian. Laws and new policies are announced by the City Guard, rather than any other body, and nobody is known to have direct contact with any government official. A number of theories have popped up; that a number of Lords rule Aretrian from the shadows, that the City Guard have no actual authority and instead claim the existence of a higher body, or that the gods themselves give their will to the City Guard. It would seem the first theory is correct, if this Ulthra is to be believed.
Note read, Osirio and Ava head off for the Opera House of Aretrian; one of the largest in the city. But, first, the two of you stop by a tailor to get Ava some less ragged clothing. A considerable amount of time is spent taking measurements, stitching cloth, and sewing clasps, before finally, Ava emerges, now wearing a fine blue dress instead of her previous gnollskin garments.
That done, the pair head for the Opera House at last, paying to see the show. It's a breathtaking piece, each swell more tremendous than the last before building into a triumphant crescendo, and ending the final movement with a sweet refrain from the strings section. The whole affair lasts quite a long time, and by the time you emerge, you're almost blinded by the sunlight.
Do any of the other members of the party do anything while Ava and Osirio are off? And if not, what do you do while waiting 'till midnight? Do you even intend to attend the meeting, for that matter?
