"Ach!...in a moment, Mountain Girl. I want to see what the walking fellow decides. I would think he might be offended we're taking everything he came for and risked his life to find. But, I have been mistaken often."

"I would be dead if it were not for you. Take what you will. I may ask to take a look at certain books if our interests overlap. I would appreciate the escort. The spear? I am a student of the weapon: I have no remarkable skill, but neither do I have any remarkable deficiency."
Walker continues his search for books on the Lords.

"Such a courteous man, a true honor...

While we peruse these stacks, maybe you can enlighten Osirio as to your...conspiracy theories? Assuming you trust me, of course, Mr. Walking."
He says with a smile, putting the magical books into his satchel.

Then, he talks. Osirio is good at talking...

"You should know my friends names, since they are too shy to offer them!

The Priestly fellow is Mr. Culpa. I'm not quite sure what he believes in, but he does seem to have a strong faith in...whatever. He fixed my arm once, and now we're friends for life. He's a very poor dancer. I think he was born to dance badly.

The Drow in the shadows...somewhere around here...is one Ithraeheste Fr'Aviir, an old...companion of mine. She doesn't talk much, or even appear to move or breath, or blink-if she's doing her job, you'll barely know she's there! We have a history, but that was a long time ago. She used a fish to catch my heart. I fought a Kraken in her boudoir, and it was a draw. Afterwards, we decided life was too short for Krakens, and parted ways-I've disliked sailing ever since.

Ava Snowhammer, you must have gathered already. She's really quite vicious, if you get to know her. She's only my wife in spirit, not law-the Priest was a fraud, though the drama was real. I won her in a bet against a skin of wine. Nowadays, I'm having trouble getting rid of her, really. That explains the comment about the stones, if you didn't get it by now.

Oh, and the short one is Ari Cole. He's...present. He tells depressing stories in the middle of battle for some reason-we all fight that much harder to make him be quiet. I owe him a crossbow bolt to the gut. I ought to plot his fiendish demise one of these days, but he's persistently useful, despite your first impression.

Together, we make Osirio's Bold Men, a currently luckless mercenary force-we're not quite sure who we're working for right now. It's complicated. Who would believe there were so many liars in this town? I just want to get paid, personally, but people-always dragging me into their expanded plots...enough to make one want to sail away, and never come back...but, I personally hate sailing."

"My conspiracy theories..."
Walker looks around for a moment. When he turns back to you, he has a wild, crazy look in his eyes.
"Ever heard of The Lords? A shadowy group, conspiring to doom our world. Information on them is sparse- no, removed, hidden, destroyed. You probably think I'm crazy, but I don't care. I know they're real, I just know it. They're hiding something, some key to real, true power... It'll be mine, soon enough... But never mind that! A pleasure to meet the lot of you!"
As quickly as the wild look came, it's gone again.

"The Lords of Aretrian? I thought they were just a myth!" Osirio claims, a trifle sarcastically.

Action: Also, let's be leaving, yo.

A swift search reveals, to your annoyance, no such books. The legends had said this place was heavily touched by the Lords; you find it strange that no record of them was left here. Perhaps, they simply were legends.

After a moment's considerations, you decide to retrieve both the locked volume, and the tomes on Binding; the former proving themselves shockingly heavy altogether.

Where is it, exactly, that you'd like to leave to?

"So..." Culpa speaks up "A spear? A wonderful weapon really. Though more at  use on a full battlefield than the skirmishes we seem to get into."

You can still try to go up into Naras's evident hiding spot.

”I’m sorry… should we continue to the stores? There is likely to be much of interest in the stores… I wish I had had the chance to look at these books before they were smashed to smithereens, but then they were somewhat bent on eating us, so it’s a good thing I didn’t. I’ve gone off this whole magic thing recently anyway.”

Can I have a quick look at the books too? And then follow to leave. As an aside to Mr Walken:

”He doesn’t really mean depressing as such, you know – it’s just his light hearted and witty way. People generally concur that my life-affirming chanted anecdotes are really quite wonderful and positive. Would you like to hear one?”

”It’s terribly rude to interrupt,” says Ari, ducking backwards and slightly out of the way.
