Coalition to stop the Lyrian war of aggression
(On a side note, strange how Italy manages to pump out an entire navy using my designs and weaponry in 1 turn, while all my heavy industry barely accomplishes a thing.)
((Italians are always better :D. On a serious note, maybe it's because I've had the time to refine the process? Dunno.))

The War of Lyrian Aggression
The Emirs gathered into the Senate Chambers in the early morning just before the dawn prayers. The Lyrians had gone against all warnings and all civility and declared a war of colonisation on the Moccori. While posing no immediate danger, another power in the Lake would disrupt Italian power. Furthermore, an attack on Africa was an affront on Italian prestige and such things would not go unrewarded. As such, the Emirs have ordered their declaration of war to be sent to the Lyrian government as well as a declaration of a temporary alliance with the Low Countries. Strategy/Tactics sent to GM.

Militarisation
All throughout the country, basic regiments are recruited to serve their nation; the elite Light Infantry and Stormtroopers have been ordered to enlist additional men into their battalions.

Radio Waves: Carte Blanche
Due to the ongoing war, the threat of undetected airships and naval vessels have caused the Emirs to give the engineers studying radio waves unlimited funding.

Scandinavia is willing to send her experienced but underdeveloped navy against Lyrian in exchange for navy and air technology that might and Scandinavia in that war.

A Letter to the esteemed Monarch of Scandinavia,

Your Royal Highness,
Despite recent ongoing upheavals in the Country of Nev, we nonetheless want to keep up the good relations and friendship between Nev and Scandinavia. Indeed recent events ( i am referring here to the nativist killings) are very unfortunate and will be taken care of as soon as a modicum of order in the country has been restored. As such i ask that no matter what the outcome of this current Upheaval that Scandinavia and Nev maintain their good relations, their alliance and their trade agreements.

Yours truly,
Chairman Thraka of the Revolutionary Provisional Government

Finish the Fight
Rordalian forces will continue the fight against the Francians and attempt to make the final push and end Francian resistance.

Increased Firepower
Research at the war academy will be focused on creating new and improved (larger caliber, longer range) artillery and anti-airship guns.

The World Will Know Our Name
Embassies will be sent to the South American nations and to North America to establish good relations and look for profitable trade opportunities or technology.

Action Redacted

[PM will be send once battle results are available]

Naval Expansion Program

Driven by nationalistic fervors following the unexpected and cowardly attack* of Lyrian forces against the Royal marine, a massive naval expansion program is started, with the intention of obliterating the Lyrian navy and securing the seas for our vessels. In addition, recognizing the threat of the Lyrian airship menace, all of our newly-build vessels will be fitted with our 30 mm auto-cannon.

Construction of the following is expected: (In order of priority, obviously)
    - At least 1 Dreadnought (10 x 300 mm Cannon battery, 30 x 80 mm cannon, 24*30 mm autocannons)**
    - 10-30 Submarine (80mm Cannon, 6*Torpedo Tube, 2*30 mm autocannon)
    - 5 Heavy Predator Destroyers (6*80 mm Cannon, 4*Torpedo Tube, 6* 30 mm Autocannon)
    - 5 Light Predator Destroyers (2*80 mm Cannon, 12* 30 mm Autocannon)

The Haber Process

Shortage of Ammonia has long been a problem for the production of Industrial fertilizer, and many other substances. Now, a German scientist has invented a much more efficient process, and fascinated by the possibilities of this discovery, the King has requested the development of such an Industry at home. The conditions of the Lower Countries are ideal for the production of the gas here, due to the abundance of electrical and other required infrastructure.

The process itself is expected to aid greatly in the production of food, (IRL, this technology eventually quadrupled it) but also has other interesting properties, such as the ability to produce ammonia based fuels, or aid in the production of potent explosives through the Ostwald process.

((Actions might be changed depending on the results of the battle, which have yet to be posted))

*They intercepted the fleet I send to intercept theirs, so they shot first.
** It's a dreadnought, after all.

((Just going to be pedantic, but a dreadnought by definition is characterized by an all-big-guns armaments. What you're asking for is just a battleship.))

I assume, we can agree that the HMS Dreadnought (1906), after which all dreadnoughts were then named, was a dreadnought.

Because it's armament was the following:

Quote
5 × twin BL 12-inch Mark X guns (305 mm guns)
27 × single 12-pdr 18 cwt Mark I guns (76 mm guns)
5 × 18-inch (450 mm) torpedo tubes

All dreadnoughts were equipped with a smattering of smaller armament to defend against torpedo boat attacks. The only thing I did was throw on some additional AA capability. (Though to be honest, the 80 mm guns will probably do better against airships than the 30 mm guns.)

The main point of the all big guns sheme is the removal of intermediary guns, such as 120 mm, 240 mm calibers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Dreadnought_(1906)

On a side note, Dreadnoughts are Battleships. Just better ones.

Only barely. It would be more accurate to classify it as a semi-Dreadnaught: Compare it to Lord Nelson (which is a "pre-dreadnaught" battleship of the early 20th century) and Bellephoron (which was "a dreadnaught") and tell me you don't think it's more like the former than the later.

(but that is, again, if you're being pedantic. Your main point stands: Dreadnaughts did have small caliber guns for point defense, they just had more big guns than ever before)

Uhm, the Dreadnought has much more in common with the Bellephoron than with the Lord Nelson. Quite logical really, as the Bellephoron is just a slightly updated variant of the Dreadnought.

Both the Dreadnought and the Bellephoron share the Turbine driven engines, while the Nelson still utilizes triple expansion engines. Weight class of the Dreadnought and Bellephoron are virtually identical, as are the dimensions and armoring. For armament, the Lord Nelson has a varied armament of 12 and 9.5 inch guns, while both the Dreadnought and the Bellephoron have the signature all-big guns scheme.

The only real difference between the Bellephoron and the Dreadnought is that they increased the caliber of the Point defense guns, because the older guns were no longer sufficient.
