(It has not been long enough for languages to evolve. Presumably, the sapients are speaking Godstongue (Divili? - short for 'divine linguistics'), the language of the gods and the only language to exist yet. Does this make sense?)
(That may be true, but keep in mind that a tick of time is poorly defined.)
Kli (still hidden) influences the Humminbirds who have met the Luminess to allow those who wish to visit the Trees to fly with them, using songs of the gentle yet powerful wind to carry them.
He also influences the last Hummingbird party to realize the need of remembering their surroundings for the future, hopefully leading the Hummingbirds to find a proper way of "mapping" the areas far from home creatively.
The Luminees are carried back to the local Tree to meet the main assembly of Hummingbirds. They exchange stories, food, and rumors over the course of a few days, and some Luminees ask to stay with the Hummingbirds. A few more Hummingbirds wishing to stay with the Luminees for a time return the remainder of the Luminees back to their village. Life for the Luminees at the Tree of Balance is rather difficult.
The empty-handed party returns to their Tree--an easy feat, considering the fact that they basically flew in a straight line--and report on the shores and the salty water and the soft ground. They explain the need for some method of recording a flight path for complex routes in the future, and many villagers discuss different solutions to the problem. The recently returned party describes a tree with long yellow fruit with broad, flat leaves and proposes puncturing holes in the leaves to mark landmarks.
"Hm. I do believe I business to attend to. Farewell."
Azem finds the nearest Mountwyrm trade caravan and guides them to the Tree of Balance.
(I don't even remember which world the Piece of Eight is on, if it was ever even defined.)
The Mountwyrms trade caravan sends two scouts to fly over the forest surrounding the Tree of Balance to plot a practical course. Some hungry Gruen sample various fruits, and the caravan holds multiple fruit-based feasts for the five days it takes for the scouts to return. They continue on their journey and eventually arrive at the base of the Tree and are greeted warmly by the Hummingbirds. The caravan proceeds to set up shop at the base of the Tree, hoping to see
what crafts and goods the Hummingbirds produce.
(I guess you could define it now if you liked. You could even say both, although it might make more sense to specify one.)
Artisanii checks on how his Muses are doing.
The Muses seem to be carving icons, forging trinkets, painting cliffs, sculpting rocky outcrops, weaving clothing, cutting tiles, firing pots, engraving clay, playing games where they pretend to be gods, polishing the statue/shrine, rehearsing comedies, and various other creative pursuits. They are not the most organized race, but they do produce a lot of interesting works.
