Harlan at least could relax, having never "worked" in Alberal.

Lamden shook his head at Albert and Kyle.
: "It will be no issue. You are my guests while we are here. Alberal may be at war, but we do not allow such things to cloud our principles."

Kyle crosses his arms.
"You have enouh clout to make people ignore an arson charge? No really, do you? I really didn't mean to do it and I'd like to drink unmolested."

Albert brightened up a bit at that.
  "Ah, that's good to know."

Lamden's mouth slanted at Kyle.
: "Well, ignore may be too strong a word..."

Soon the cavalier came back.

So it seems you really are Lamden. Everyone here thought you were lost to Ixion, either captured or killed. The Lady herself hasn't stopped giving you credit for saving her life. It's good to have such a brave soldier back.

The rider led the group to the entrance to the city. Smooth roads, carefully built and decorated with abundant plant life, that led to buildings with carefully sculpted decorations of a variety of themes, most commonly the sun. But the most impressive was the Church. Two statues, depicting the gods of earth and sun, guarded the entrance. The nave had numerous windows of stained glass, forming intricate patterns. The tall bell tower could be seen and heard from any part of city. And inside resided one of the most important bishops of Alberal, second only to the Archbishop.

Lady Anne Laude should have news of your presence already. She will meet you soon just outside the Church.

: "I'm impressed, Lamden. Never would have thought that you'd command this much respect."

Kyle nods.
"Yeah, you really don't look the important type."

: "So she made it home, then... thank the gods."
Lamden, on passing by the statues leading into the church, made a short gesture towards the sun statue and nodded, closing his eyes. And a moment later, flinched when Harlan and Kyle spoke.
: "Wh-..!" The cavalier scratched the back of his head.
: "Well, surely my modest demeanor put you all off guard, hm?"

Catherine was looking at the church, making little notes and sketches in a small notebook, and restraining herself from asking the probably-blasphemous question of why they pay such extravagant tribute to beings that they can't prove exist.

Senija had felt particularly guilty over being responsible for Lilly being stuck, so she hesitantly approached her sulking brother, before asking a halting and rambling "question".
:"Uh, Tomik...? You know how, uh, you... wanted to keep Lilly from leaving and, well, getting hurt traveling, right...? Uh... we're at a city now, right? So... that means it's a bit safer, with roads and stuff, right...? And, so..."

Lilly, for her part, had found a bench in a public park and was watching the birds and thinking.

Tomik stared at his sister.

"She'd still be facing the possibility of there being an entire army between her and the city. You know what sieges are like. Are you seriously suggesting it'd be safe for a woman who can't defend herself to try and make her way into a besieged city?"
