And so it was, after Lord Wulfgar's fall, the rest of warlords started falling into line with Laura's family, or futilely resisting their might. With time, a lot of the old Ixion territory was restored into order, even though some regions still remain out of the control of the new government.

~~~~Epilogue E: Loose End~~~~

A few weeks after the final battle where Kyle put an end to Chaos' incursion, he found a lead on someone from his past. He found himself in a pirate den on the coast of Dargas, a little town built by and for sailors.

Kyle entered one of the many taverns in the port with no name. At last, he found the right one, as at the other side of the small bar was the person he'd been looking for.

Elsid Barret.

Kyle couldn't hide his grin as he walked over to the other side of the bar to take a seat. He ordered some rum as he considered what he would say before finally just deciding that thinking things through just isn't his style. He turns to Barret with a thoughtful look.
"Excuse me, are you perhaps, Elsid Barret?"
He knew it was him, he spend years looking for the son of a bitch. But he figured it'd be polite to have one last conversation with him before he does him in.

[Solymr]

Elsid looked at Kyle up and down, thought for a moment, then answered.

: No. Elsid turned to the men who were with him and laughed. Who's asking?

Kyle smirks.
"I didn't think you'd remember me. My name is Kyle Johnson. I don't suppose that name rings a bell?"
Kyle takes a sip of his rum. He notes that it tastes great despite the local, or maybe that's just in his head.

Elsid thought while looking at Kyle.

: Kyle Johnson... Oohhh, now I remember. How's your mom doing? I guess I could come by now that I have some free time. Elsid's grin was anything but honest, keeping quiet the fact that he had free time because Ixion's navy had fallen apart.

"Oh, she's doing about as well as Ixion. You can thank me and my friends for that by the way."
Kyle takes a sip of his rum. A quick look at it tells him that he's got one sip left.

[Solymr]

: Well, that's a shame... Elsid's expression wasn't of sadness, but nervousness. Say, why don't we-

Right at that time a tomahawk flew across the bar and landed above Elsid's head.

: Elsid fucking Barret! I've finally found you!

: Shit, is it my birthday or what? Everybody's after me. Elsid and his crew broke open the back door and moved out.

The captain followed suit when he noticed Kyle and stopped.

: Kyle? You're here too?

"Captain! Yeah it's me. I'm here to fulfill my moms last request and kill Barret. I take it you're after him as well?"
Kyle quickly finishes his drink and pays as he stands up to follow the various seamen.

[Solymr]

: Yeah, couple weeks after you left we found him and he killed all my crew. Let's get him!

When both Kyle and Haibach got out of the tavern, they could see a few of Elsid's men, but no Elsid.

"I don't rightly give a shit about you because honestly, I killed a world threatening demon and you're just going to be disappointing. So I'm gonna give you one chance, tell me where Barret went or I'M GOING TO PAINT THE TOWN RED WITH YOUR BLOOD!"
Do what I just said with my club to Crewman A if they decide loyalty is better than life.

As response the pirate flipped Kyle off, to which he responded with a flaming bash that sent him flying.

The other crewmates moved in and threw their axes at Kyle, thinking that they could take advantage of the range of the club. What they didn't take into account is that this club could make the ground explode under them, incinerating both of them.

Kyle sidesweeps the pirate so hard he goes through the window and takes out the wall of the bar.

Meanwhile the other pirate goes against Haibach, and they both miss.
